You cannot go wrong with purchasing this product regardless of age. For those of you that have not read a lot of information on CoQ10 it has been suggested that people over 40 do NOT absorb regular CoQ10 well. So they should elect to take a component of CoQ10 instead called "Ubiquinol" which is more expensive. CoQ10 initially breaks down into "Ubiquinone" (vs Ubiquinol) which is harder to absorb as you grow older. This was 100% correct 6+ years ago. However, this is NO LONGER THE CASE!!!
This product and others like it absorb slightly better than Ubiquinol and COSTS MUCH LESS!!! Here is why...
"Ubiquinol" was introduced to the public around 2006. It was a major breakthrough at the time for a CoQ10 manufacturer. Unfortunately, good people have done a great job in researching "Ubiquinol" a few years ago and educating others on the substance. However, there are more recent studies and more current scientific breakthroughs regarding CoQ10.
Science never sits still and competition breeds enhancements. "Ubiquinol" is the "reduced" component of CoQ10. CoQ10 is "reduced" to "Ubiquinol" and "Ubiquinone" in the blood stream. These are the two components that our bodies use. "Ubiquinol" apparently DOES absorb better (in our intestines) than regular "Ubiquinone" in people over 40. HOWEVER, when "Ubiquinone" is bound to a protein molecule it absorbs slightly better than "Ubiquinol".

Here is a side-by-side comparison of ten Ubiquinone CoQ10 supplements: Minerola CoQ10, Nutrigold CoQ10, Doctor's Best High Absorption CoQ10 with BioPerine (120 gel caps), Doctor's Best High Absorption CoQ10 Vegetable Capsules (60 capsules), Now Foods CoQ10, Jarrow Formulas Q-Absorb Co-Q10, Qunol Ultra CoQ10, Nature Made Ubiquinone CoQ10, Nature's Way CoQ10, and TruNature Coenzyme CoQ10. All of these are Ubiquinone, not Ubiquinol, products.
So, what is Ubiquinone, how does it differ from Ubiquinol, and how are they related to CoQ10?
CoQ10 is a nutrient that is said to have profound effects on our levels of energy, stamina, organ health, and immune system functionality. CoQ10 comes in two forms: Ubiquinone and Ubiquinol. Ubiquinone (also known as Ubidecarenon) is more common and widely known because it is the form most commonly sold commercially. Ubiquinone is the completely oxidized form of CoQ10. When taken, this supplement is actually metabolized within our bodies where it becomes Ubiquinol. Regular unsolubilized Ubiquinone does not dissolve in water and only poorly dissolves in fat. Therefore, regular unsolubilized Ubiquinone has poor absorption.
Ubiquinol is the strong, antioxidant form of CoQ10 which neutralizes free radicals and decreases cellular damage. Ubiquinone does not have this antioxidant effect. Ubiquinol supplements are in a form that has already been reduced to being a strong antioxidant. Ubiquinol is both water and fat soluble, so it provides superior absorption compared to regular unsolubilized Ubiquinone. When taken directly in this format it works more quickly and can be delivered in lower concentrations without worry that it is not being metabolized.

Jarrow is known for quality products and have an excellent reputation and a fair price.
The Softgel pill is easy to swallow an I like their formula for this Co-Q10, better absorption allows you to take less milligrams of the supplement.
The author (also a doctor) explained that Q-absorb is THE best form of Co-Q10 and should be everyone's choice.
I love Jarrow brand as it consistently has low to medium pricing and I've been very happy with the quality of their products.
