About Jasbindar Singh
As a young child, growing up in Lautoka, Fiji, my interest in psychology and what makes us tick was piqued when I stumbled upon my older brother's stack of psychology magazines. I was hooked! This inspired me to leave home as a teenager and come to New Zealand to study psychology. This interest in the human journey and passion for growth and development at a personal and professional level remains unabated. I love writing about these topics drawing on my work first as a clinical psychologist, then a consultant and now as a leadership coach, speaker and facilitator. Our attitude and mindset is key to our success and I love writing in order for us to bring our best selves forward as we enrich and contribute to each other.
The softer skills is what helps nurture peoples heart, minds and spirit.
And yet I hear clients say, "my brain is just not wire like that." They are right as this is not their natural strength.
Hence the creation of this booklet for those who need a checklist to remind them to do what will lead to more engaged, connected and happier team members. This in turn means more satisfied customers, higher sales, less absenteeism, and greater results in terms of productivity and profitability.
The booklet includes a model of three key things important in employee engagement and six key areas including inspiring for vision and values, effective communication, reward and acknowledgement, strategic communication, and work-life balance. All these steps help not only with talent retention but for the company to potentially become an employer of choice.
