Another great addition to this series -can't wait for the next brother to fall-
She meets Jase while working as a nurse in a care home tending to an ailing original member of the MC. She's dated but never opened up to the danger of getting hurt again until now. Something about Jase is breaking down her walls. But trouble shows up before they even have a first date. Her son's father, who has had no contact and made no support or effort since being told of the pregnancy, has filed for custody and visitation. He's still an childish, arrogant, bully in a man's body but now he's poisoning her son's mind with his filth.
Meanwhile, Jase and the MC are dealing with leftover business involving the Crips gang. S*** is going down and possible war is on the horizon. Gunnar, the club prez, shoots down Jase's business ideas for a custom chopper business. Being seen as the joker and not taken seriously by his brothers in the MC is a blow to Jase. How will he resolve this and still respect his family, the MC, if they can't respect him?
How will Jase and Ellen have a chance if it endangers her custody of her son? Why did Paul show up now?
This is a stand alone, no cliffhanger, HEA with no cheating. There's is death and violence as well as language and sex scenes. According to the author, "her kids can't read it till they're 25." This is book 3 in a series but each builds on an overall story arc running throughout the series. It is set in British Canada so some of the language and situations may not be familiar for all readers but they don't take away from the story.
Ellen got dealt the worst hand that anyone could get at such a young age. Just when she was starting to feel like she fit in, her boyfriend did the unthinkable. Paul acted just like Jase but with a mean streak behind it all. Once Ellen owned up and told him, he tossed her to the garbage and continued to be the douche canoe he always was. Ellen then did everything she had to do make it right for herself. Too bad her parents didn't support her but she had a best friend and her family to get her on feet.
Ellen did everything right for her and her son. She didn't let anybody in cause she too was sheltering herself from the same heartbreak she had to endure so many years ago. That was until Jase walked into her life. He broke the shell that she had created and even took in her son without a second thought. Him realizing that she embodied everything he wanted made him to become that man he wanted. To be taken seriously with his club was a plus, but to become the man instead of the boy is what Ellen just did!
Geri did a phenomenal job capturing this love story that happens far too often in real life. The story between Jase and Ellen is hope for all the woman out there who think that it can't happen. It can and it will as long as you fight and have patience!
Thank you Geri! Can't wait for Reapers story!
