When choosing a link belt, make sure a pulley groove's top is wider than the belt. Say, your pulley is 1/2" at the top, so the belt should be 1/16" less, so it can drop approximately to the middle of the groove height.
So far this belt is working fine!
I did buy both the 1/2" and 3/8" ones not knowing which size to use and the 3/8" one works perfect.
I have about 8" of extra belt left over, if a link breaks I can just replace the broken link and I'm still good to go.
Wow! these things are great! It wrapped around that tiny pulley nicely, With a regular V-belt, I would have to disassemble the machine to replace it, but with this you just hook the ends together. It runs smoothly, and with five feet, I have enough for another belt.
It was simple to install - I just took a length close to what I needed, and removed links until it was just right. I suppose I might have to remove another after it runs in and tightens up at the joints.
I have had the belt in place for some ten hours and it seems to perform well.
If this continues to work well, I would recommend it over regular fan belts not only for applications that require intensive procedures to replace belts but, to keep one in the tool box for quick repairs such as for tractors or boat engines.
Good product, thanks,
Installed the Link-Belts and... honestly, I'm amazed! It's quiet, and about 99% vibration free. Happy customer!
