First, I guess you need to know something about them, "The beautiful ones. The flawless four. Everyone wanted to be them. You know 'em". They went to your school, too. First there's Courtney "Satan-in-heels" Shayne (Rose McGowan) and her pawn, the dense but dangerous Marcie Fox (Julie Benz), a legend in her own little mind. Then there's angelic Julie Freedman (Rebecca Gayheart), doomed to be popular because of her pretty face, and lastly, the teen-dream herself, Elizabeth Purr. When an ordinary kidnapping prank leaves the future prom queen dead (accidentally gagged with a jaw-breaker), a deadly sweet prank leads to cover-up makeover in this edgy and unpredictable comedy. But there will be no mercy as prom night arrives, bringing this spirited tale to its cruel tiara-dropping conclusion.

One of the best things about blu-rays is the pop-up menus where you don't have to even exit out of the movie to change the settings or go to a different scene. The blu-ray has the pop-up menu, but there are no scene selections! Of course you can skip to different scenes, but there's no option on the pop-up, or main menu, to jump to a specific scene. I had to keep skipping around as I was looking for a specific part when I first got it. Even the DVD copy has a scene selection menu. This seems to show how little thought was put into this release from Sony's side, and aside from making the commentary, I can't believe there's nothing new on this supposed 20th anniversary issue. It would be different if the original release had gone out of print, but it's in stock right now for $12.99. Like I said, I don't regret my order and I did know what I was ordering (aside from the lack of scene selections), but I just feel like this cult classic deserves better.
Still, if you don't have this film on blu-ray, I don't think you'll regret buying it. I'm really happy to have it in my collection and the film itself looks FANTASTIC, but if you don't plan on watching it with the actor's commentary, I wouldn't pay a premium for this new issue. (I should note the original release does have it's own commentary with just Darren Stein which is also included here.)
