My kids (ages 6 and 8) love this game, and it is fun for adults, too. We bought it several weeks ago, and the kids still ask to play it often. It helps with teaching creativity, visuospatial skills, and problem solving. I think it would be ideal for groups or a party game. Plus, it's not too time-consuming. A family of 4 can play a game in 20 to 30 minutes tops. Our family loves this game!

Unique concept and very fun! Similar to Yahtzee, there's luck and strategy. Easy enough for my 6 year old but fun enough that my 9 and 11 year olds love it, too. Has become our favorite family game. Definite kid appeal but also great for grown-ups.

The game was simple enough that we were playing it a few minutes after we opened the box, but fun enough that we continue to pull it out. There is a combo of luck and strategy involved (kind of like Yahtazee). But it's not SO strategic that young my young child (6) couldn't be successful. Would be a great gift - as I don't see it in many stores, making it a rare treasure that is sure not to be a duplicate.

I use this game with groups of middle school kids to get them to cooperate. They get so involved with helping each other find the right dice to make the doodles they forget they want to "win". A great tool to teach kids cooperation, problem solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills, but also a fun game to play for no reason at all but fun!

Note, if you have a very competitive streak this game might be very frustrating, because winning is often the luck of the dice.

With four boys ages 7 to 17, it's hard to find a game that is fun for all. Usually, it's too easy for the older ones and they get bored, or it's too hard for the younger ones and they get frustrated. Doodle Dice is the exception! It's great for the whole family!

We played this game over at a friends house and fell instantly in love with it. It's easy to learn, and most importantly really fun to play. The goal of the game is to obtain six cards (one of each color of the cards). To do this you roll the 6 dice and try to match the same pattern which is on the cards that are laid out. There is 3 rolls per turn. You start with one of each of the color cards face up and each time someone starts their turn they must turn over one of the cards from the deck. The hardest card to get is the purple card because you must match every dice to the card. The blue card you only need to get 5 dice to match and it gets easier as you go from green to orange. There is one type of card which will allow you to block a player from his/her turn. Also another card allow you to have an extra roll.

Kids as young as 3 can grasp most of the concept, but really 5 years old and up would find it easy to grasp with help from a adult. I guess that would also depend on each child's development stage. You can play the game with as few as two people and as many as maybe 8 players. The first time we played it with eight people and it took quite a time to play. I love to play with a smaller group because the game pace seems to go faster.

This is not just a kids game. You match the patterns on the cards by rolling the dice three times each turn. The dice have patterns on them that will make up the shapes on th cards as you arrange the dice. You must turn over a pattern card first or you lose your turn. If you can make the pattern from the dice in 3 turns you win the card.

Each card is a color difficulty and has the name of the pattern in french, spanish and english for fun practice if you choose, but you don't need the name anyway. It is a pattern matching game that is fun for adults too. I have played this with 4 adults and 3 kids of all ages and we had a blast.

Please note that my friends and family play a LOT of this game. It's fun, easily understood and addictive. One wouldn't expect much in the way of depth from this sort of game, but the depth factor is actually there in all its glory. The number of possible creations really keeps this game feeling fresh each time you play. The only drawback here is toward the end of the game. You'll be down to that hard-to-obtain shape and it often feels like nothing more than luck by the time a particular player ends up winning; because everyone will be down to that final shape they need and hoping for a lucky roll. Quick and clear winners rarely come at the end of this game. But it is still one you won't want to miss. And the price is as right as they come!
