This game is a lot of fun. It is competitive and challenging. The kids (age 20 and 24) are always asking to play it with us (the parents).

Our family really enjoys this game. It is fun and although part of winning the game is luck of the draw....it also takes strategy. My 7 and 8 year old sons love playing it and along the way they are learning the states and their capitals.

We love the Sequence game so we had to try Sequence States! It's definitely a bit more challenging than Sequence but it is great fun! Fun learning for any age!

I got this for my older kids and my 5 year old now plays it with them. She recognizes the shapes of the states and knows all of the capitals. The only thing I wish they had was a way to have the states be located on the map so that they can learn that too. But, this was a great investment. If you have kids who are learning state capitals, this is a fun way to help them. It would be a great gift for a teacher too to use during indoor recess too.

My husband and I first played the Deluxe Sequence Game my parents brought over New Years Weekend 2010. My parents and my husband, and I had such a blast playing that game, that we were curious to see if there were other versions out there. My step daughters are 14, 12, and 9 and we thought this would be a very nice game of learning and fun. Our 12 y/0 lives with us full time so we tried it out with her first and she really liked it, we had her say the name of the capital of the card she was playing to the state on the board she was matching it to. We are going to try it out with our 9 y/o this weekend and see how she likes it! Thanks so much for providing this product, we are considering buying more versions from amazon.com

During "grandma camp" this summer my three youngest grands (8 yr old twins & 7 year old) played hundreds of sequence games.
I bought the States sequence game for a birthday gift since they enjoyed "animals sequence" and "number sequence" so much.
My daughter assures me the game was played dozens of times the first day it arrived.

I'm a homeschooling mom and I mainly picked up this game for state recognition. I set it aside, and almost ended up returning it, but pulled it out tonight to play with the kids and I'm so glad I kept it - we had lots of fun!
It's perfect for kids learning the capitals, because the capital is printed on the playing card, while the corresponding state outline is pictured on the board. For kids who don't know their states capitals yet, the pictures of the states are on the playing card and they are also in matching colors (capital card/state spot on board), so it isn't frustrating.
There is lots of strategy involved with the addition of "add a chip" and "take a chip" cards. Getting 5 in a row is not as easy as it sounds, but it's definitely lots of fun! This game is a keeper for sure. I can picture playing it with the grand kids in years to come!

I adore the game Sequence. On game night when the family would play, my 7 yr old daughter would get upset that she couldn't play. (After seeing it so often, she can actually play it now.) We bought sequence for kids. Tons of fun. Then I saw this set. Wow! Kids can learn their state capitals while playing a super fun game! Adults will enjoy it just as much as the original.
We sent this set to Grandma's house to give her extra incentive to want to stay over there to give mom & dad an occasional date night..
