About the author

Paul Simeon Fingerote is a veteran marketing and advertising professional with a 40-year international ad agency career. He is a professional speaker and has successfully presented his popular Hands-On Marketing Workshop for over 20 years.
Fulfilling two life-long ambitions, Fingerote is an on-air host for National Public Radio's Monterey affiliate, 90.3/KAZU; and he is the co-author of "Jazz on My Mind," written in collaboration with the late Dr. Herb Wong.
In the advertising world, Fingerote worked his way up the corporate ladder and around the globe as a copywriter and creative director for major ad agencies in Toronto, Canada; Sydney, Australia; and London, England. On his return to the United States, Fingerote opened his own ad agency in Monterey, California, the area's first full service marketing, advertising and public relations agency.
In 1984, Fingerote decided to teach marketing and advertising. He created, developed and successfully presented his Hands-On Marketing Workshop to hundreds of businesses, associations, chambers of commerce, convention and visitor bureaus and individuals for the next 20 years.
In 1981, when his ad agency acquired the account, Fingerote became Public Relations Director of the Monterey Jazz Festival. He retained that title and then joined the world-renowned event as full-time Marketing Director in 2005.
After serving the festival for 30+ years, Fingerote fulfilled a life-long dream of "being on the radio" with an on-air position as host on National Public Radio's Monterey affiliate, 90.3/KAZU.
Fulfilling another life-long ambition, Fingerote wrote his first book, "Jazz on My Mind," which was published by McFarland in 2016, co-authored in collaboration with his life-long friend and colleague, Dr. Herb Wong.
