I would still recommend these books even with my comments on the second book. They are well written and it really is a unique way to get the readers more involved in the story. Maybe, I'll eventually read the ending. I've been told it's worth it to read both, no matter what team you are on :).
Dylan left Jules three years ago leaving her with words of hate and making her feel she was the problem of their consuming relationship. He actually left her for another woman but soon realized the depth of his mistake. Feeling like it was to late to fix things with Jules, he does nothing but work and leaves the both of them to suffer the loss. Jules is finally getting past things, starting to make changes and recover from the loss of what she believed was her other half. Dating even, and then the infamous run-in with the ex happens.
The part we have all hoped for at some point is where the ex (Dylan) realizes the error of his ways and the mistake he made in letting her go and tries desperately to win her back. The part that will differ for all of us is what happens next. Will Jules choose to stay with Austin, the new guy who is committed and steady and wants her desperately or will she go back to the one that broke her so completely hoping that he is the one to finally mend her.
This is the best part - up next for this series - WE GET TO CHOOSE WHO GETS THE GIRL!!!!!
This will be a choose-your-hero end to the tale. You can choose either Austin (the good guy) or Dylan (the ex). It's not a new concept but more of a re-introduction of this type of story. In the very manner of the movie "Sliding Doors" you can read BOTH and see how it would play out in either scenario.
May the choice be with you!
Team Dylan all the way!!!!!!!!!
Poor Jules the unthinkable had happened causing her heart and mind to battle... What would you do if the love of your life, the man who ripped your heart out, came crashing back in to your world??? At the worst time, when you are just starting a new relationship with a wonderful man.... YOU WOULD FREAK!!!! (That's what I did as I read!)
From the beginning till the end, I was utterly confused and torn between Austin and Dylan. Two men determined to win Jules heart. Austin is her current boyfriend but she is in complete denial with her feelings for Dylan. She thinks he is the past and Austin is her future. But how can she look to the future, when she hasn't let go of her past?? When her heart belongs to the other person....
I was Team Austin till I read this book. I soooo wanted to hate Dylan but it was nearly impossible with him acting like a love sick puppy. He was so remorseful and sincere. I would hate to be in Jules' shoes trying gravely to be strong! But how can she stay true to her resolve when Dylan is finally telling her everything, she always wanted to hear?? Can she forgive him and believe his words???
If she could just forget Dylan and go off into the sunset with Austin. Her life would be so much easier. On paper Austin is the better man. He is a much safer choice. He's patient and loving. He wants to take their relationship to the next level. She knows she can have a good life with him.....What is a girl to do??
In Jealousy you get to see a different side to Dylan. He really opens up. The dual POVs is excellent and gives you both sides of their story. Therefore you begin to sympathize with Dylan and see his true intentions. It all comes down to forgiveness....
How many of us would be strong enough to walk away?
For the next book, I love that we get to choose our ending with the guy of our choice. I haven't fully committed to my team yet ...Team Austin or Team Dylan.... But I'm left needing to read more from Dylan first. He really tugged at my heart.......looking forward to more!!!

Jules is steadily getting over her heartbreak when Dylan left her, and moving on with Austin. If only Dylan could do the same. Dylan wants Jules back, whatever the cost, and when he plays, he wins. Jules knows that Dylan is the cause of her years of anguish, and even so a part of her is drawn to him even if Austin is making her happy. The cracks are beginning to show in Jules and Austin's realtionship and who Jules choice will change all of their lives...

Well now I have a dilemma! This series has alternative endings, named Austin and Dylan, now in all liklihood I'll end up reading both, but which one I read first is the big question, cause that's the ending I want for Jules. Since the previous book, Scorned, I've preferred Austin, mainly cause he hasn't hurt Jules massively, but there is a little part of me that thinks that Dylan would be a more complete end to the story...then again, maybe reading the ending will completely change my mind!
The main difference in Jealousy is that Jules is feeling happy, about herself and about her relationship (which has been going on for 5 months so is at a fairly serious stage). Whereas in the other book she was coasting through (which was the point and it worked for that!) in this book you got to see who she truely was, someone that laughed, loved and made some pretty witty comments!
Then there was the boys...Jules' best friends Brandon didn't play a massive role in Jealousy, other than to keep an eye on Austin and Dylan (which needed doing) but Dylan's realisation that Jules and Brandon had slept toether was probably an important moment, there was also his slightly unrequainted love going on in the background, though he's the kind of person that would never say anything because it would hurt Jules to do so.
Austin seemed to be played in a bad light in this book. And yet I'm not too sure why, he refused to be late to her birthday meal, he bought her a thoughtful birthday gift and he wanted her to move in with her, and yet he didn't seem to actually be paying much attention to her in some ways. I'm not too sure what to make of it, and considering I prefer Austin...complex! Just like life I guess!
Dylan on the other hand was right out schemeing. He bought Jules a lovely present at the start of the book (which she thought was from Austin) but after that he didn't seem to care who he hurt to get what he wants, and I don't think that that excludes Jules.
This book was left in a very precarious situation that I doubt the characters can successfully get out of without being hurt, I just have to mull it over and work out which guy I think should have a shot with Jules.
Jealousy counts towards Winter COYER and Bookish Resolutions.
