Jeanine developed a keen interest in what makes humans thrive twenty years ago. Now she understands she was asking a broader question than most researchers. She also knows that we receive the answers to the questions we ask!
She has a vision of a much better world for everyone, but it is not just a dream, she knows how to achieve the goal. For the last several years she has devoted her life to sharing this information with as many people as possible in programs designed to help individuals and organizations improve their physical, mental, and behavioral health, relationships and increase their success. As she saw her work making a real difference in the lives of those who were applying what she teaches, she became frustrated because she could not help everyone who could benefit. She began writing so that she could help a broader audience.
Although the practical skills and mindsets she teaches are helpful at any time, she encourages them to be used as Primary Prevention, much as hand-washing prevents the spread of illness, applying these techniques to your life before you have a grave illness, a divorce, an addiction, suicidal thoughts, business failure, or a jail sentence can greatly reduce the chances that you will suffer those consequences.
Jeanine raised her two daughters on her own from the time they were preschoolers. She says her goal was always to "Raise children I would like as adults. I knew I would always love them, but liking them was my goal." She always smiles when she says this because she has achieved that goal.
Her work is supported by science, but she is deeply spiritual. She wasn't satisfied helping only those who have a worldview similar to hers so she studies scientific research and religions to build bridges from a variety of worldviews to the keys to human thriving. Her ways of explaining the keys to greater thriving have been woven together with many worldviews in a way that helps them resonate with almost everyone.
She has numerous manuscripts she was waiting to publish until her doctorate was complete. She has completed her dissertation and expects to successfully defend it over the next few months (Autumn, 2015).
Her deepest hope that her books will provide you with information that you use to thrive more in your life--to be the shinning light she believes everyone is capable of being.
