UPDATE 5/20/2013: The Fix I listed below lasted about a year & then the Wire broke. I added a new wire & now we're back in Business. May the force be with you ;o)
===

Got this for my 4 year old at Xmas. He really likes to play with it & I DO TOO! Only one problem as being mentioned is that the roof of the Falcon pulls up & if opened too far, pops off and is hard for toddler to pop back on. Does not break & is a fairly sturdy toy. I liked the toy so much that I wanted to fix the hinge on the roof so it would not come off.

So I got my drill & one small screw & one of those small, pain in the neck wires that are used to hold many toys in their boxes [Finally something useful to do with those irritating wires that have to be removed from many toys.].
Drill one small hole in the bottom base piece under & between the two silver screws that are in the top piece. The hole should be next to the blue square sticker that has two yellow corners.
Screw the screw in & leave it sticking out just a bit. Now wrap the wire once around the screw & then thread it out to the sides of the plastic strap pieces on either side that have a small hole where the wire can be wrapped around & back down to the screw.
The one wire should thread around on both sides & be wrapped around the head of the screw. Also when doing this make sure the roof is in it's open position at a 90 degree angle & that you make sure the wire is pulled tight down around the screw on both sides.
Once tight I twisted the two open end pieces around each other & cut the wires close to the screw.

When finished there should be two pieces of wire threading up diagnally and around the plastice strap pieces on each side of the hinge.

I saw this toy sitting on the Target shelf and got extremely excited! A Millennium Falcon toy for little kids?! Fantastic!
The first time we got it out of the box, I should have repackaged it and returned it. The whole thing opens up clam-shell style, but the hinge holding the top and bottom comes apart as SOON as you bend it back just a smidge too far. This leads to my son running over to me asking me to fix it every 2 minutes. He loves the thing and I couldn't bear to take away his favorite toy because I was NOT going to exchange it. I hoped it was only the lid, but much to my dismay the hatch on the bottom pops off regularly along with the little one person "room" as well. Every part and piece of this dang thing falls off multiple times and it was NOT worth the money I spent. I am planning on super gluing it together to just give him the ship to play with...Save your money for something else, what a waste!!

We got this toy for our 4 year old son's birthday. He loves Star Wars so we were super excited for him to open it. As soon as he touched the toy it fell apart. We spent the next hour hearing, "Mom, it fell apart again, can you fix it?" The problem is the hinges that hold the top and bottom ssections together. He played with it for a day or two and then got frustrated that it kept falling apart and hasn't touched it since. I spent a lot of time trying to locate this toy and now i feel like it was a complete waste of time. We contacted the company who said they were sorry and would send my son a free "gift". That was 3 months ago and we have yet to get anything. We're very dissapointed.

I was really bummed by all the negative reviews on here because this is a great toy. We got this for my son's 4th birthday and didn't know about the issue with the top snapping off. Yes, the top unhinges easily. But we've figured out that it keeps the kids from overstuffing the interior with action figures, and then trying to force it shut. Having it snap off actually makes the toy more durable. Yes, it's annoying and that's why I'm only giving it four stars. But my son and his 6-year-old brother have been playing with this thing for hours already. The compartments on the top and bottom, the landing feet and handle to fly it, the two action figures and accessories far outweigh the annoyance of it having to be popped back in place. And at $35 it is a steal, considering the old version of this ship cost $100. I've shown my boys that it needs to lean against a wall or couch if they are going to do imagination play with the top part. They don't mind! This toy is extremely fun and allows for lots of imagination and creative play, which is why I find it educational. The fact that there are no lights or sounds or batteries is a plus in my book. The blasters on the top of the ship are awesome! The boys also love the secret compartment, the cockpit, the trap door and the main entry. Best of all, they can use their old Galactic Heroes action figures with the new ship. I really do love this toy!

This Star Wars Jedi Force Millenium Falcon was bought for my Star Wars-Crazed 5 yr old Grandson. After 10 minutes of play, he gave in to just playing with the bottom of the ship, minus the trapdoor and the cockpit door. Everything else fell off at the lightest of touches! No, he is not hard on toys! The ship is to hinge open (as in the photo) for play. The hinge is insufficient and ill-fitting and the entire upright section falls off as a figure is placed on a deck.

My mechanically inclined husband was very upset with the way the toy functioned. I was very glad I did not pay this price for it and can return it to a big box store tonight. Even my grandson says "Grandma, I think we need to get something that does not have so many pieces that fall off."

Good luck to those of you who have purchased it for Christmas. :(
