Top customer reviews
It's cheap enough to use and toss it. Or if I feel like washing the brush, I can get more life out of each brush. It takes several wash without any problem.
Very good quality. Form is dense enough, it does not leave streaks. It's also firm enough, so I can use control pressure without breaking the neck of brush. This is important point to note, because I purchased 'bulk' poly form brush from local hardware store and 90%+ ended up breaking between the form and the handle. And this Jen Mfg Inc's poly Foam brush didn't break.
Good value also. 48 of this brushes less than $11.00. vs. local store bought 24 pc variety size, cheap, 90%+ useless brush for $8.00.
I will most likely keep buying this brush from this seller.
I use them to apply paint to door trims, baseboards, and door insets. I've just completed a huge project involving stair railings and stair retro-tread. After staining the wood which should be applied with a soft cloth, I applied 4 coats of polyurethane using these foam brushes, for a perfect finish. There are no resulting brush marks, just a smooth finish.
Because they are so incredibly affordable, there is no messy brush cleaning. While waiting for the various paint or polyurethane to dry, I just discard the used foam brushes and use new ones for additional coats.
It is wise to make a practice run before using foam brushes for the first time because foam brushes hold more paint than a paint brush. More paint is applied to the wood and should be applied one-directionally.
I also use them for touch-ups.
These are a much better deal and much better quality.
I bought the 1" to help with using interior latex trim paint on 6 panel doors and they do a great job. As a matter fact, I've since purchased a box of the 2" size because I still have miles of woodwork left to paint.
I'm sure I will purchase from Jen Manufacturing again. I think I was almost as impressed with the quality and care of the packaging as I was the brushes. The product is good and reusable multiple times. (Using LA Awesome to remove dried edges of latex paint when you wash the brush will keep the foam soft and smooth for the next use.)
