Jenny is a full-time writer and trained artist, who has been earning her living (more or less...) as a professional author since the end of the 1990s. She works from her ramshackle home in a remote spot on the wild west coast of the Scottish Highlands. This beautiful area provides the setting for her Tales from the Adventures of Algy series of illustrated children's novels which feature a host of memorable characters drawn from the local wildlife... and Algy! You can connect with Jenny on Goodreads, or on Facebook at jennychapmanauthor.
There are many Jenny Chapmans in this world, but only one is the human assistant of a unique and surprisingly fluffy bird called Algy, who is loved by all who know him or his adventures :)
Algy has his own web site at adventuresofalgy dot com, his own Tumblr and Wordpress blogs (adventuresofalgy), and his own page on Facebook at adventuresofalgy.
In non-fiction, Jenny is author and co-author (with her husband, Nigel Chapman) of professional technical books and bestselling international college textbooks on digital media, Web design and Web animation, which have been translated into several languages.
She is also an award-winning animator/multimedia filmmaker who has won prizes in film festivals around the world. Jenny originally entered university to study English, but found the course too dull, so changed to Philosophy and Art History at the University of Leeds (B.A. Hons) and University of St. Andrews (postgrad research), then later spent five years at art school studying illustration and animation at Edinburgh College of Art (M.Des. and B.A. Hons).
