Top customer reviews
-Clear radio reception (even local). Perhaps some of these negative reviews were due to not buying the proper antenna adapter and wiring the power wire also?
-Easy to use interface.
-Very responsive touch screen.
-Very clear and bright display. (800x480)
-Bluetooth pairs automatically once synced the first time. (you can change this setting; also it took a few tries pairing it before it worked for some reason)
-Navigation works fantastic (when it works; see Cons)
-Very big difference in sound quality compared to OEM. Much better and much more clear.
-Equalizer is very easy to use and set.
-Once paired, the Bluetooth hands-free calling feature works very well. The microphone is a directional microphone so as to cut the background/road noise. This mean you have to be conscious of where you mount the microphone and also in what direction you speak. I mounted mine right behind the steering wheel (see pics) and it works wonderfully.
-Navigation alerts are editable. Speed Limit alert, voices, etc are all customizable.
-Parking brake engagement did not work. Even when in park (with parking brake engaged also), my unit would not allow me to change GPS destination or watch DVDs. The fix for this was relatively simple, as all it took was grounding the brake wire so that the radio thinks it’s parked. Not sure if this was the radio or the wiring harness issue.
-Only 5 wallpapers to choose from, but per the manual you can upload 1 at a time and use it. To do this, you need to remove the navigation MicroSD card and insert your own with a .bmp image. I will attempt this later today and report back. (800x480 resolution)
-There is no auto-dim feature based on morning/day/night. This unit is bright, which is awesome as it helps to cut the glare a little during the day. The downside to this is that the unit is very bright, even in the morning and at night when I would like it to dim slightly.
-Glare. In bad glare, nothing is visible.
-Navigation works well, when it works. As of right now, it loses signal on some back roads. This is probably to be expected in the back roads of Tennessee with all the trees, but still seems like a flaw. The bigger issue is that at times, no signal can be found at all. You can monitor the satellites that your unit is connecting to, and I was monitoring as it was connecting to 0 satellites although 8 were above the hemisphere line. This is the biggest issue by far, as it limits a major feature of the radio itself. Considering an aftermarket GPS antenna. (I have the GPS antenna mounted in the stock location that Honda places the antennas when you get navi/Sirius off the floor)
-Doesn’t come fully updated from the factory. I am updating this later and will report back.
-iGo Primo navigation update.
-I have no back-up camera as of yet, but I will add that review here when I do it (within the month).
-I have updated the software successfully, not too bad. Fixed the BT call volume.
-I have installed custom wallpaper successfully, not too bad either.
-I have updated the iGo Primo maps. I still receive no signal on Interstate 75 in TN on the morning drive until about 6:45am EST. Not sure why it is this way as there are still plenty of satellites to connect to.
-GPS included, antenna works fine left in the dashboard on the unit doesn't need to go on roof.
-HDMI input included
-Responsive touch screen
Cons (minor stuff):
-GPS itself functions adequately, not as good as using Google Maps
-Using HDMI and a Roku Stick, I can mirror my phone with Google Maps on the screen (and everything else a Roku does)
-Can be a little slow to start up/backup camera show
-USB input on the back, rather than just the front would be nice
