First of all, I need to make it clear that I can't download the HD of any video. I don't have the download speed to do that. So I won't be talking about the technical aspects of the Amazon video experience. I'm nof sure why Amazon asked me to review "Jericho HD".
I really do love "Jericho". There are parts of it that are too "cheesy" to believe and others parts that really make you think. First things first, I know that Skeet Ulrich was the star of "Jericho", but they used him too much for the story line. That is really my only problem with the series.
If you like this type of story, "end of the world stuff", then you should like this story line. I was actually surprised at the complexity of the overall evil plot. I wonder if there is really a Jennings Rall out there? Oops, is that SPOILER?
The characters are likeable, the story lines are believable, and the action is well paced and exciting. What else can I say? I tend t get really involved with a story like Jericho and these people are real to me.
Jericho also has one of those perfect television moments. Alicia Coppola's dialog with the chicken in one of the later episodes of season 1 is truly one of the funniest things I have EVER seen on TV. Maybe it's because I have chickens and I get it, but it was perfectly done. Google it. If you don't laugh, then Jericho isn't for you. If you see the brilliance, then rent or buy the series. I have this series on Amazon Instant and on disc. I like it that much.
Even though this is a review of Season 1, I will say that it is one of those really bad TV moments when the powers that be canceled season 2 after 7 episodes.
I don't know what else to say except that if you normally like this type of story, then you will like "Jericho". If you don't normally find these shows amusing, then rent an episode or two. This is also a character driven story, and I think you'll find it interesting and entertaining.
