Right in the middle for this book. It wasn't a bad story. I didn't hate it. It was a quick read and some parts were funny. I guess my biggest issues were 1. The cheating. I very rarely on purpose read a book that involves cheating. I liked to be warned. I like to know ahead of time about it. There was no author warning here, none, nada, zero. 2. I felt like there was something bigger going on between Eloise & Haden. I didn't realize it was only because he didn't feel good enough for Pres. I really thought there was some behind the scenes drama or blackmail going on - that there was going to be a big twist coming. That's the direction that I felt the author was leading in with that story. Especially since the author made the point to have Eloise stay away completely from the baby. Eloise never even made one single effort to meet the baby or be in his life. How could she have really loved him and been so little involved??? And he still married her!!!!!! Those two points were my biggest issues. There were however several unanswered questions about side characters which I can only think are leading in to other books. A lot of things seemed unfinished, skimmed or skipped over.
So, I'm stuck in the middle with regards to this book.
56% through-- " I don't know you at all, Haden. Your mood swings are worse then a fifteen-year-old girl's. I know you're hiding something, but who knows what? And I have no clue why you're getting married to someone you barely know! I'm really over all you're immature games. I've got a child to raise, and frankly, I don't care weather you're part of it of not."
---This is the first book I have read by Kat T. Masen and it will definitely be my last.
I like to escape in romance, and this is not romance. The characters are so annoying, immature, I can not enjoy. I had to put it down, stop reading for a while. When I picked it back up later, It still angered me to much to enjoy.
To much drama. Not enough romance. No special or tender moments.
The perfect title. I do not like JERKS, I thought maybe, hero would be a funny out going Jerk, carry on a little, to gain heroines attention. This is not the case.
If you like romance I do not recommend this.
If you like A-wholes, not possessive, alpha, jealous, hot, demanding, know what they want and goes after it. A-whole to others but not his lady. Tough, beast in the bedroom. PROTECTIVE--- then this definitely is not the book for you!
I did not enjoy this.
Jerk is repeated so much!
They argue so much. It just makes them sound so stupid and young!

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Presley and Haden's story. Presley just ended her engagement and ~5 year relationship when Haden decides to finally get her much wanted attention. After a few too many tequila shots, Presley finds herself in a hot encounter with the jerk. Haden leaves soon after to London, but when he returns engaged to another woman Presley reveals to him that their lives have been changed forever. There are some funny moments, a few sexy times, some drama...and they get a HFN ending.
POV: This was told primarily in Presley's POV with the prologue and epilogue in Haden's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Alright until what felt like an abrupt ending. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well otherwise.
Instalove: No, they go from hate-to-friends (of sorts)-to-love.
H rating: 2.5 stars. Haden. I wanted to shake him! He was horrible at communicating. I didn't ever really get a good feeling about him. He definitely was a jerk!
h rating: 3 stars. Presley. I also wanted her to communicate better and to demand better treatment from the H.
Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed
Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not very many scenes and not so much it takes away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Yes
OW/OM drama: Yes
Sex scene with OW or OM: No
Cheating: Yes IMO
Separation: Not IMO, because they were never "together"
Closure: This had alright closure with what I would call a HFN ending, but others might be fine calling it a HEA. I felt like it was too abrupt and we never experienced them as an actual couple which made it hard to feel okay with the status of where they were at in the end
