Slaves (also known as SWEDISH MYNPHO SLAVES and DIE SKLAVINNEN) stars Franco’s wife and muse, the inimitable Lina Romay in a rare villainous role as Madame Arminda, the owner of a notorious high end brothel called The Pagoda, who oversees the kidnapping, sexual torture and humiliation of a young society girl Martine Stedil. When the girl’s father pays the ransom but doesn’t get his daughter back, he and his nasty manservant (played by Franco himself!) raid The Pagoda and enslave Arminda; subjecting her to untold indignities while trying to find out what happened to his child.

Plot- When a woman has been found by the police she tells of being kidnapped, drugged and tortured by 'Arminda' (Lina Romay). For many years they have been trying to shut down Arminda's sex palace called The Pagoda, but can't get close enough as she has friends in high places. But now they have found a woman who will help put Arminda away for years.
Transfer - The movie itself looks absolutely gorgeous, at many parts, the bitrate maxed out at 9.3Mbps. There was very little damage to the print that I could see, maybe a hair here or there, bur considering most of Franco’s work was probably left sitting in a dark room for years, this is as good as it could possibly get, in fact this transfer would look terrific on blu-ray.
Audio - The only track on the disc is the 5.1 German audio that the film was shot it. The actual audio levels are great, you can hear the characters when needed and the music does not drown out any character speech.
1. Trailer at the beginning of the disc for Full Moon’s Amazon Channel
2. Franco, Bloody Franco - 40 minute audio interview subtitled in English.
3. VHS Trailer Reel running 6:44 minutes includes the following trailers: Oasis of the Zombies, Demoniac (Black bars on nudity), Virgin Among the Living Dead, The Screaming Dead, Erotikill, and finally The Invisible Dead
Runtime - 1:16:12
Language - German
Aspect Ratio - 16x9
Subtitles - Forced English Subtitles.
Final Thoughts - A lot of people have never really heard of Jess Franco unless you find yourself in a horror movie discussion group, or you happen upon one of his movies in a video store and you rent it because the cover looks fantastic. I’m a huge Franco fan and honestly this is one of my favorite’s of his, it’s definitely a good movie to show to others who are just now getting use to Franco, I’d recommend getting the other 8 movies in Full Moon’s collection because when lined up, they create a terrific portrait of the man himself.
A straightforward story. In the very beginning of this movie, one slave runs hard to escape all the way to a federal police office. She becomes a witness revealing Arminda's identity and operation. This time, the private detective successfully kidnaps Arminda ahead of police. Arminda is caught and tortured to disclose where she has kept the wealthy girl. Missing and Found. A happy ending works out.
