The prologue, interesting as it was, was a good lead in but gave me no hints. The first chapter brought me up to snuff on the family situation then, it was surprise after surprise. The author just doesn't think the way I do and for that, I'm grateful.
I enjoyed the read; enjoyed being surprised and was really surprised with the ending.
The story sucked me in and kept me reading. A delightful quick read that left me sad to see it end.
Samantha, Noah and Jesse are all battling their own inner demons. When the three of them are in one room it can seem pretty crowded. Samantha has returned home under very unfavorable circumstances. She has enough on her mind before she runs into Noah first then Jesse. She isn't sure which of the two comes with more trouble she just knows both of them do.
Jesse's Brother is a great read and I highly recommend it. The characters are multi-dimensional and as a reader I could relate to them on several levels. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who the heroine should pick.
What I love about Ms. Ely's plot is that it focused on the three characters. There were no irrelevant moments in the book for me. I simply could not put this book down and was sad when I read the last page. I wasn't disappointed in the story, only the fact that the story ended. I am now a fan of Ms. Ely and can't wait to read more of her work.
I loved the chemistry between Samantha and Noah! This book kind left me with the feeling of "is there more" "I want more". Mainly the feelings you have when reading a good book that you don't want to end.
Once again I really enjoy reading Wendy Ely's books. She definitely has a gift. Also this is a book that I will definitely talk about with my friends.
