The Jesus Revolution Book captured the uncertainty, vulnerability, confusion and authenticity of the time period of the 1960’s and 1970’s. This was one of the four “Great American Revivals known as “The Jesus Movement!”
This book for me reminds me of the excitement of those days as a young girl in my teens, I too experienced this great revival at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.
I remembered sitting up front with my best friend on the carpet close to the bands. We were singing scriptures in rounds, listening to artists like Love Song singing about the Hippies for God with”Little Country Church “ and Children of The Day “For These Tears I Died”
We needed a Savior and His Name was Jesus!
Today, In these uncertain times, I believe we are experiencing the same kind of desperation and emptiness similar the days of the 1960’s and 1970’s. A time of loneliness, heartbreak and confusion. The need is so great that many people need to change their lives to God and many hearts need to Return to their First Love-Jesus once again!

From the Inside Flap
How the Jesus Movement transformed the church--and can transform you
God has always been passionate about turning unlikely people into His most fervent followers. Prostitutes and pagans, tax collectors and tricksters, the pompous and the pious--the more unlikely the people, the more it seems to please God to demonstrate His power, might, and mercy through them. America in the 1960s and 1970s was full of many such unlikely characters--young men and women who had rejected the conformist religion of their parents' generation, iconoclasts who didn't follow the rules and didn't fit in. It was the perfect setting for the greatest spiritual awakening of the twentieth century.
With clarity, humor, passion, and purpose, Greg Laurie and Ellen Vaughn tell the remarkable true story of the Jesus Movement, an extraordinary time of mass revival, renewal, and reconciliation. Setting intriguing personal stories within the context of one of the most tumultuous times in modern history, they draw important parallels with our own time of spiritual apathy and outright hostility, offering hope for the next generation of unlikely believers--and for the next great American revival.
Because God can always bring a new Jesus Revolution.|Greg Laurie is senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, one of the largest churches in America. More than 5.6 million people have attended his Harvest Crusades since 1990, and more than 500,000 people have registered professions of faith through these outreaches. Greg is the author of more than seventy books, and his daily nationally syndicated radio program, A New Beginning, is broadcast worldwide.
Ellen Vaughn is a #1 New York Times bestselling author and inspirational speaker who has written or cowritten more than twenty books. Former vice president of executive communications for Prison Fellowship, she collaborated with Chuck Colson on a number of his seminal works. A senior fellow for the 21st Century Wilberforce Initiative, Ellen also serves on the board of directors for International Cooperating Ministries.

From the Back Cover
"For those who were eyewitnesses to the Jesus Movement, this book will be a welcome reminder of what made that time of our lives so special. For those who know nothing about it, this book will be an entertaining crash course on events that defined the Christian church in America for generations. For everyone, it will be a compelling testimony about the power of God to save."--Dr. Jack Graham, pastor, Prestonwood Baptist Church
"Jesus Revolution has tuned my heart to a higher level of praise for a loving God who has the proven power to break through to a lost, godless, self-destructing generation and redeem it, one person at a time. If He could rescue and reset Greg Laurie--and He did--then there is no one and no generation beyond His reach."--Anne Graham Lotz, speaker; author, The Daniel Prayer; www.annegrahamlotz.org
"Back in the '60s, when I first came to Christ, you could sense a stirring out on the West Coast. God was on the move . . . rescuing wayward wanderers through the Jesus Movement, sparking a revival that rocked our country and beyond. You, too, will be inspired and refreshed as you read the historic account of one of the most remarkable seasons of revival in the history of Christianity!"--Joni Eareckson Tada, Joni and Friends International Disability Center
"In the 1960s and '70s, God moved in a unique way, sweeping across America and transforming the lives of countless people. This fast-paced, grace-filled, Bible-centered book will show you how God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things."--Craig Groeschel, pastor, Life.Church; New York Times bestselling author
"Greg Laurie and Ellen Vaughn have given us a compelling and insightful look into the Jesus Movement of the '60s and '70s. As our society seems to grow more and more dark, this book makes me excited and hopeful that maybe we are not that far from another great move of God."--Chris Tomlin, music artist, songwriter, author

Awe inspiring! I have always been fascinated by the time 60's and early 70's time period and everything that went on back then. I was born in 1963 so I didn't really love through any of it that I remember. What an powerful testimony to the power of God that out of all of the kaos, civil unrest and moralistic meltdown taking place in our country God made a move which after effects are still being felt today. Greg Laurie was right there front and center for it all. Proof of the Jesus movements authenticity is the fact that thousands of Calvert Chapel and Vineyard churches are still praising and teaching God' word today. Greg was led to the Lord by a father unlikely fellow by the name of Lonnie Frisbee. I am currently reading the 2nd installment of his biography now ( free in kindles lending library) which is opening doors for me which I never thought possible in terms of my theology. Oh how I long for something like this (revival) to take place again this country! Reading Greg' book makes me feel like I was almost right there with them, praise God !!!

“Dios concede avivamiento.

I The Jesus Revolution is as if you opened a time capsule from 1970, when Jesus people were bursting the seams of the churches where they were welcomed. Bible studies and music in parks, on campuses and in tents. This as I remembered it as well, it seemed that there truly was a hunger and thirst after the things of God. This book tells the reader how it came about, why it started and where they found the answers they were seeking. The same answers that today’s youth are seeking. This amazing work of God in that generation and we pray that He will do it again for this generation.

Jesus Revolution is an excellent book detailing the Jesus Movement of the 1960's. I loved that it included the history of what was happening in our nation during that time. I believe it is an important book for young people to read for them to have an understanding of the often confusing and troubling events of that decade. The book ends on a hopeful note and it is very applicable to the times of today. I highly recommend this book for adults of all ages, young and old.

This book is right on time. Our country desperately needs revival and that revival has to start with the body of Christ. Reading this is inspirational to revival and will bring hope to all who read it that it is still possible to have revival today. God is indeed still on the throne and Jesus is still our gracious King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
