The JET 70424-2 24-Inch Parallel Clamps (Two Pack) provide powerful 90-degree clamping capabilities at up to 1,000 pounds of pressure. These versatile clamps include movable jaws that can be reversed and used as spreaders. Easy to use, the clamps feature SumoGrip handles that provide comfort and increase torque. They even have an innovative measurement system for quick identification of opening capacities.
Clamps feature SumoGrip handles for comfort and a Precision-Rule Measurement System for accuracy.
Rugged aluminum I-beam construction allows the clamps to handle up to 1,000 pounds of pressure.
Each JET 70424-2 is a well-constructed 24-inch parallel clamp with a deeper-than-standard throat and wide jaw, so it will be indispensable to your workshop. For convenience, the clamps' Slide-Glide triggers easily lock the jaws into place, allowing for smooth movement.
Clever Rail Design Makes Tough Jobs Easy
Each 70424-2 rail features an innovative Precision-Rule Measurement System that provides you with consistent setups and exact readings on your openings--a feature other clamps fail to provide. What's more, the moveable rail stands add convenience and accuracy to both clamping and spreading jobs.
Ergonomic Design Works for You
The 24-inch parallel clamps feature ergonomic construction that's designed to work for you--not the other way around. Soft SumoGrip handles make the clamps easy to hold, and they also give you increased torque. The clamps do not take much strength to manipulate, yet can clamp up to 1,000 pounds of pressure. For further convenience, each Acme-threaded handle easily turns while applying continuous pressure.
Built for Durability and Versatility
These clamps are built to see you through all of your projects. Featuring a durable aluminum design, superior I-beam construction, and a fully-plated rigid backbone to prevent corrosion, each clamp is built for long-lasting use. Additionally, a non-marring composite resin covers each clamp's jaw face to prevent wear and tear and ensure even clamping pressure.
Very versatile, each 70424-2 is designed with a workable profile that allows you to narrowly clamp on the side of the jaw face. For further flexibility, the clamps' moveable, reversible jaws can be dual-purposed as spreaders.

Top customer reviews
If you pick up a clamp and work them back and fourth in the store you'll immediately think something like "Oh I see ... sure ... that works great".
Well, in actual use it's not always that glamorous. For one, they don't always slide easily - just like the Bessey clamps. But more importantly, try using them upside down. Because the handle has to be pulled towards the bar but the level has to be moved toward the handle, you have to somehow manage to push and pull at the same time with the same hand! Not going to happen! You really have to get the clamp ready before inverting. That's a pain. In my opinion the trigger make it easier to use these clamps sometimes, but not it's not a slam dunk.
The Jet clamps have threaded holes in the bottom presumably to support bench dog type attachments. That sounds pretty cool, but I've yet to use that feature so I can't comment.
There are two things that I like better about the Jet clamps, though.
1. The handles are larger in diameter and have squared facets. They're easier to tighten and without knowing the clamping pressure stats, I'd swear these easily tighten with more pressure.
2. If you remove the head and look inside the Jet mechanism is much simpler. Bessey has some spring wires inside that the Jet does not. I'm guessing that this is because of the triggers, but I don't know. Nor do I know that the Bessey innards will someday fail or be a problem, but i prefer less moving bits.
3. Bonus complaint - availability. The Jets are nowhere near as easy to find with as many ordering options (price/shipping).
Going forward my preference is definitely the Jet clamp because of the handles and clamping pressure. I'm giving four starts because they're really nice, but that trigger/lever function is just not as nice as I had hoped.
I'll bet if I look back through my previous reviews I gave the Bessey clamps 5 stars because they were simply amazing to me at the time, coming from vintage clamps and pipe clamps.
The Jet clamps have a trigger for fast adjustment and hold vertically without falling like my besseys after a few years of use. (Another reviewer posted that also) Nothing more frustrating than holding your face frame in one hand and having the clamp close/open in the other.
I never thought that I would use the measurement on the side, but now I use it all of the time. I measure my project and place blue tape an 1/8" less than the width to keep the glue off the clamps. It is also nice to have all of your clamps opened to the same size when clamping a large face frame or project
The size of the parallel surfaces dwarf all other clamps I own.
The bar never bends like the rest of my clamps when clamping 8/4 stock.
The handle is far superior to the bessey wooden handle. You can actually grip this one. Once you know it is tight, if feels like you could go 3 or 4 turns more. Almost enough to break the wood.
Some other Jet features:
Benchdogs. Another feature I thought I would never use, but when clamping up panel doors, it is nice to have your clamps secure and square already. Really, it saves me 2-3 minutes each door.
Spreader. Eh, I've used it a few times on large cabinets that are out of square. The clamps are easy to switch around.
Final thoughts. If you are going to invest in clamps, invest in the Jet Parallel Clamps. You won't be sorry!
