I bought this book for my airplane-aficionado son when he was far too young to appreciate all of the advanced details about the jets. No problem - it's a great book to go through, looking at the pictures, and reading just what each letter stands for, starting with "A is for Aerocomet". It was the best airplane book we've found for little kids. Now that he's five, I'm reading the whole thing, every word. It stands up better than most to repeated rereadings.

My 2 year old son loves this book. He requests it and has "read" it over and over. He can pick out and name specific jets by their shape and color. Illustrations are realistic. Not only does this book show both capital and lower case letters, it also shows an example of jets that begin with each letter. Information about current and past jets, some history, and a little about how they work.

We were given the Airplane Alphabet as a birthday gift for my son. We liked it so much that we bought this one for Christmas! It's a great read for kids and adults. Both books have been conversation starters that have led to family stories, of grandparents and great grandparents, who remember or even flew some of the planes! Great books, timely shipping, great prices!

Our three year old carries this book everywhere. He is constantly flipping through the pages and looking at the jets. He can name all of the jets in the book. The book contains great photographs, and facts about each jet. I also recommend the Airplane Alphabet book. Buy them and add them to your child's collection. You won't be sorry.

I inititally bought this book for my 2 year old since he is learning his letters. But I just got this book in the mail, and am so excited about it, it will be great for the older kids as well. (They are all starting to get interested in fighter jets) It has a lot of different planes in it, and great information about each. It is very well written. I am getting on here now to order a second book for my nephews in first grade. Some of the planes it talks about: E-3, F-16, Harrier, KC-10, F-117, SR-71, F-4, F-22, B-2, F-14, U-2, X-13, and A-10. I have never written a review, that is how much I liked this book.

We already own The Planes Alphabet Book by the same author and bought this to add to our sons collection. He loves it and can name you all the plane prefixes. It's great for kids and adults that are interested in planes.

My 3 year old son LOVES to memorize airplane model names so we thought this would be great for him. However, this book was difficult to enjoy. Many of the planes were given two names, the nickname and the number letter name and a lot of info too, it made it confusing for him and me frankly. He still enjoyed the pictures but we were dissapointed that it wasn't a little simpler in its presentation. Probably better for older kids who can read themselves.

This book isn't to teach a child the alphabet. The alphabet just serves as a guide to introduce 26 different aircrafts with some basic, fun information. Each entry is written with enough detail that it's clearly different from the others; I appreciate the author's efforts to hold a child's attention through the entire book. And I'm glad that jets of all sizes, nationalities, and purposes are featured so there's a good variety. My 5.5- and 3.5-year old really like it and have retained a lot of what they learned after just a few readings. My son was so excited to see his favorite thing in the world - the SR-71 Blackbird - make an appearance.
