Of all the books read in a lifetime this was the only book that was a great read and very informative but yet, I felt the authors could have added more about antisemitism within a biblical context. There were so many enlightening historical facts about Carl Marx (Rabbi family history), Noam Chomsky (Jew) and other Jew haters I was surprised why there was so much hatred. Although the hatred is well documented and defined the hatred itself was just plain illogical.
Jesus of Nazareth never said or implied in any manner that he was to begin a new religion and call it Christianity. We were to pick up our cross and follow Him. Jesus was an orthodox Jew as were the majority of his followers, i.e. his disciples. The authors forgot the atrocities committed by Pharisees and Sadducees against many within Judaism. This fact was important to show that any hatred begins with those who believe they have the truth and any other possibility is evil. Of course this was just an excuse to murder Jesus to save their way of living and praying. Please note that when Paul (Jew) wrote that the Jews were responsible for the murder of Jesus was totally misinterpreted. The Romans put Jesus on the cross and it was the acts of the Jewish corrupt leaders that made it happen. To blame the Jews, as a people, is wrong! The Jewish leaders had a long history of destroying their own Prophets. The Jewish authorities had squads of men who sole job was to hunt down and kill the followers of Jesus, a Jew. Please read Paul of Taurus. I believe that had the corrupt Jewish authorities had left Jesus and his followers alone we would have had a much different history. In my research and reading I'm not aware of any other case where Jewish Authorities had Jews murdered (Jesus' followers) solely for their beliefs in obedience to Jewish Law? But, I admire the Jews and their Faith. However, when any group of people leave too much authority in the hands of a small group of so-called leaders corruption of the human soul is not far behind. I never understood why the Jews demanded a King to lead them and look what happened with King Saul. Samuel and God admitted that King Saul was a mistake.
The rest of the book was an amazing read and the historical walk you'll take is well worth the time. The horrid treatment of Jews is as the authors stated "The Canary in the mine."

Not an easy read, but I'm learning a lot. Great history lesson so far (not quite finished) that I would absolutely recommend to people who want to educate themselves, and to the haters who probably don't even know why, they were just brought up that way.

The author makes a compelling case. I am grateful to him for giving me such rich food for thought. Had not read a similar systematic consideration of this undying evil.

Excellent. As a Christian for Jews, I've had questions & curiosities my entire life. I knew Mr Prager would give the insight I wanted. He did not disappoint.

An incredibly painful but highly readable overview of the Jews in history and anti-Semitism. I don't know if I should recommend it not. If you are Jewish, it will tear your heart out. If not - well, I don't know. In some ways, it should be required reading for Jew and non-Jew - but will it change anything? I can only hope and pray it does, and for the good.
There is obviously extensive research in this book and about a quarter of the pages are lists of sources. Does that make me feel better - well, yes because it's pretty much a guarantee that this isn't a fantasy but reality - but no, because it is so hard.
