I don't know who wrote the 5 star reviews ... maybe the author or publisher!
The Kindle Version of the book presents a 2 page at a time format which is AWFUL on Kindle. The font is NOT ADJUSTABLE which is AWFUL. All the words run together ... i.e. NO SPACES between words! Again AWFUL.
Spent an hour on the phone with Kindle Customer Service ... NO HELP ... they pulled the book up and got the same thing. They say it's up to the Publisher / Editor / Writer to correct the book ... I hope they do ... in the meantime ... SAVE YOUR MONEY!
The other books in the series are fine.
I just finished JEZEBEL JOHNSTON Devil's Handmaid, By Nancy Hansen today.
This is a great book for anybody, let alone those who love sea-faring stories.
The story itself is a well crafted piece of a girl who, following her pirate lover, goes aboard his pirate ship as a young boy and learns that while being a pirate is not what the stories made it up to be, it is what she really what she exists to do.
The writing itself is brilliant. The scenes were made real with accurate terminology, history, politics, placed in a way that it did not confuse the reader, and it did not bog down the story, and really brought the story along perfectly. While one could tell there was extensive research involved, the story did not look like Nancy Hanson was showing off her knowledge. it was well placed to bring the story along with period flavor.
When I finished the book, I nearly returned to the beginning to read it again.
I will admit that Nancy Hansen is one of my favorite authors and I heard that she has another Jezebel Johnson book close to finishing.
I do recommend this book to everybody!!!
