I've had the incline trainer and the Ifit card for about 3 months now. When I first began using the card it was extremely difficult and I was not able to finish the early workouts without either stopping to rest periodically or lowering the speed and/or incline to give my heart a break. There were times when I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest, but I stuck with it.
I took the advice of another reviewer here (Kristi) and modified the way I use the workout. Rather than advance to a new workout every other day I instead do the same workout 3 full times until I feel I've mastered it and then progress to the next one. For example, on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday I'll do workout #1 (taking a break on Wednesday) and then on Saturday, Sunday and the next Monday I'll do workout #2 (taking a break on Friday).
I've found this to be a great way to increase my endurance while also using the same workout card for a longer period of time, saving me some money. Today I started workout #21 (of 24) so I'm almost finished with the whole card and am shopping to buy the next one.
So, in a nutshell, the workouts were very difficult when I started using the card but now, 3 months later, they've increased in time from about 30 minutes each up to 45 minutes and I'm finding it much easier. I can now do the full 45 minutes without stopping to rest or slowing the machine down. This is exactly what I hoped for. I haven't lost a ton of weight.Read more ›
It actually takes me about 3 days to make it through one of the programs - without having to change the speed or incline. I make sure I've completed a program before going on to the next. This workout really gets me to sweating and I've noticed a big increase in my fitness as a result of using this program. AND, due to having to run through each program about 3 times it's been well worth the price.
OK, so my I-Fit card was defective, as the same thing happened again. BUT, FOGDOG was GREAT with customer service and refunded right away.
While we seem to be having problems with iFit since their "upgrade" last month, the exercise machine and Jillian are doing just fine@ Although I've lost the voice side of Jillians workout, I really don't need her telling me to keep going, I'm doing fine without that. I do miss yelling back at her though. My wife reminds me that she can't hear me yell but it makes me feel better!
I'm halfway to my goal of 210. Actually, I weigh in the low 230s but at the doc office I can't shed my clothes to weigh au natural!
I skipped the beginning level of the weight loss program because I felt it would be too easy. When I went from 30 minutes to 45, it was tough. A month or so ago I moved up to 60 minutes. Then I deployed with FEMA to NYC for a few weeks and dropped back to the beginning of Level 3 when I returned. Now I'm back to 45 minutes and soon to move back to 60. This is a great program and tends to keep me moving toward my weight loss goal.

What were they thinking? I concur with those who complained that there is no logical gradation between I fit level 1 and level 2. Going from a 3. Read morePublished 17 months ago by terry zuch
