This is one of the best fighting games I have ever played, and that is coming from a hardcore fighting game tournament winning enthusiast. This game has superb flashy style, incredible graphics, cinematic grabs, epic combos, great juggling, jaw dropping super moves and so much more. There are also some really impressive mechanics such as roman canceling/move canceling, 'just defend' blocking system, parries, side stepping, clashes, super move chaining, stage hazards, stage finishers and more. The combos are very fluid and smooth.
You do not need to be a JoJo fan to enjoy this game. I got a huge group of people together that had never heard of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and everybody loved this game. Not only is there around 40 playable characters with all the DLC, but there are no cloned characters or copied move sets (excluding the horse stand similarities). Everybody is unique and there are some really awesome moves & abilities.
Please take 30 seconds and email Namco at "email@example.com" and CyberConnect2 at "firstname.lastname@example.org" asking them to port/remaster All Star Battle to the PS4 at 1080p/60fps with all DLC included!
I'm telling you, it's a top tier fighting game. Cheers.
Has those other Jojo's characters
Reference heaven for Jojo fans
Gameplay is just a lot of fun
Mehs: The framerate is low but it actually doesn't seem to effect gameplay that much.
The music is pretty pretty good. Not excellent like the new anime's though.
Cons: Story mode is a big disappointment when compared with what CC2 did with the naruto series. There are no cinematic cutscenes or anything, just some text that won't make any sense unless you already know the story. If you don't know the story you are probably better off not reading these since they end up just being spoiler. You have to play the story to get the characters though so you have to be careful..
WORST ONLINE I'VE EVER PLAYED.... IN ANY GAME- My connection is good, I don't lag in any other fighter. But in this game you are lucky to find a match that has less than 1 second of input delay . The best I've had is about a third of a second of delay. The game bunches everyone playing in America together so if you get matched up with someone on the other side of the country you are screwed. I seriously have never had an online experience so consistently bad in any video game.
The voice acting seems to be pretty good (cant speak or understand Japanese though), and fit the characters.
The gameplay is fun and like most other fighting games but make it interesting with the mechanics to fit the different fighting styles through the series (ripple/stands).
The only downside is that (as of writing this review) the online community seems to be mostly dead. It's not very often that I can find a quick match to play, and when I can, it's usually against someone I've played before.
Long story short, this game is fantastic, i love the art style and the gameplay, just make sure you have some friends who have it or will play it with you to make it even more fun!
