Scarlett enters his life like a force to be reckoned with and at first he's complaining, but then as the porch games continue, real feelings come out and once they start to fall there's no stopping them.
This book is a fun, flirty, easy read. I loved that the wasn't any crazy thing that happened in their story. It was just a natural flow, we got to see Sterling and Scarlett fall in love. I loved it! Definite recommend from me : -)
When Scarlett goes to a party with her friends she doesn't expect to be kicked out of the house by Sterling 'Rowdy' Wade, captain of the baseball team. Just because some of the jocks think she is a cock blocker. Rowdy is asked to do the honors and finds he is actually intrigued by Scarlett. She returns the next Friday and again they spend the evening at the porch. Talking and playing games like 'never have I ever'. Soon they both look forward to those Friday evenings and there is enough chemistry to light the porch on fire.
I loved seeing the relationship between Scarlett and Sterling develop. I also loved his mom, the romance novelist, who uses them as subjects for her next book.
"Count yourself lucky I'm not taking actual notes - this little back and forth between the two of you is romance novel gold. I can feel the tension in my soul."
"Jesus, Mom! This is why is never bring anyone home."
Sterling/Rowdy and Scarlett make great friends and wow, it got hotter and hotter between them.
Scarlett came out of nowhere and knocked Rowdy’s socks off with her nerdy ways. He didn’t know what hit him but he wanted more. I loved their banter back & forth, their goofiness and that there was no drama. This book was just a smooth romantic ride that I could not put down.
