Joe Kubert ranks with Infantino, Kane, and Swan as one of the best artists of the DC Silver Age. The interesting thing about all of these artists is that they all cartooned differently from each other. Joe was the most impressionist of the group and by the time in his career when he drew this strip he was in full command of his storytelling and drawing abilities. The storytelling is thoughtful and exciting. The drawing is lovely, emotional, intense, and exciting. This might be my favorite Artist's Edition yet. Looking at the Kubert art in the original art size is a joy. Absolutely beautiful.
