Very dissapointed with it. It has 19-20 less pages than the 2019. The 20019 Starts August 27.
Sept.,Oct., Nov., & Dec., are not included. All the fall holidays are gone. A lot of coloring not included.
I will NOT buy again. While I love Johanna's books. Even though many pictures are duplicates. I am done. I feel ripped off. I miss the missing months. I used to start coloring as soon as I got it. Look forward to it.
Not thinking I will purchase the next planner.
I think next year I will just buy her daily calendar (which is great) and put those in a regular, better quality planner instead.
Pros: Not too big, nice images to color, spiral bound
*NO monthly view— I almost didn’t buy because of that, as not having a calendar I can see at a glance for appointments and holidays is a big deal for me.
*Paper isn’t white, but cream (very yellow)— this means any stickers you use with a white background/outline will look bad
*Paper is THIN and double-sided, so essentially ALL media/pen will show through at least a little (I’ve tested several diff things: micron pens, multiple brands of fineliners, pencil, gel pens, and Tombow - all shadow, some bleed through horribly when normally they don’t)
*Daily spaces are SMALL, about 7/8” high, meaning many stamps/stickers are too big to use. Not only that, but I found myself running out of space constantly. I have to use post its for To Do lists, etc bc there’s no room
*No blank spaces in the front of the planner (there are some lined ones in the back. So forget about monthly or yearly tracking, unless you’re willing to sacrifice a daily space somewhere
*No tabs for months, so you need to make your own or spend more $ on stickers/post its
*Cover is not very sturdy. I don’t expect it to last the year. They should have gone with a thicker cardstock/cardboard
*Similarly, spiral isn’t very good and I’m not very confident about how it will hold up long-term either
*The spiral also meant using some stamps/stencils tricky to impossible, and since the numbers/day are on the right side, you have less useable space than you otherwise might.
This notebook is nice and portable and a nice multi-functional piece of hobby that you can bring with you on your short travels or visits to the dentist. You can keep short notes and reminders in here as well as color some pages in your spare time.
I do wish she kept with the 16 month that she did in the previous year, that way we get more pages.. but this time we only get 12months for the same price as the 16 month version.
One improvement I’d like to see is a thicker cover page. My cover ripped Day One when I was removing the label! But, I taped it up and am still using it.
Top international reviews
Some people will be disappointed that this isn't reflected in a lower price, since previous years offered more for the money - maybe next year the price will be lower?
IM ADDING TO THIS REVIEW, AS I HAVE SINCE PURCHASED A SECOND COPY, JUST FOR THE COLOURING PAGES.
I love the quality of the paper, the only thing I would have preferred is if it was hard cover instead of spiral bound, because my diaries get so much use the pages tend to come apart and that would be such a shame, but otherwise it’s perfect!
Good space to write some notes/appointments. Good quality paper.
