I bought this game because I'm one of the thousands addicted to the Facebook Farmville. It's discustingly addictive, in fact, I've been trying to buy games that are like it so that I don't always have to be on facebook to play it. I've gone through most of the Harvest Moon games (which are fun, don't get me wrong, but they don't really give you the full aspect of farming) and have been more satisfied with Harvest In the Heartland.
First off, the price was great. 13 bucks for a DS game? That's pretty awesome. The idea of the game was a little iffy with me, since I wasn't sure exactly what approach they were trying to take for this game's theme.
You start off on this small piece of land as a rookie, and there are different levels accessed (as well as special items) as you level up. You raise livestock, and plant plants, clear the land as well as build and tend to new buildings.
Pros: Vast diversity of different activities to do. Every day is different for me in the game.
Graphics are pretty well done, compaired to other Harvest Moon and farming games, these are larger and better to recognize.
Great options such as having your crops cared for (as far as pestisides go) for the entire season, as well as having your buildings cared for the entire season (packages that you can purchase).
Cons: No social networking. You can't socialize with the people in "town" like you can in other games.
It takes a while to level up, as well as get enough money for any of the extra buildings (which are ridiculously priced)
