I love this game. My favorite thing about it would have to be growing crops and teending to either cows, chickens, goats, or pigs. In this game you start out as a rookie then work your way up to Farmer...etc. You also go through 4 seasons (Summer, Spring, Winter and Fall) and in each season(except Winter) you can grow different crops according to the season. You also can buy different farm equipment to help you tend to the crops. Overall this is a very fun game.

After playing FarmVille on Facebook I wanted to find a farming game I could play on the DS and this one is great! It provides long term appeal with different awards to win, animals to play with, and crops to grow. It isn't difficult to make money to buy new things. One thing I don't like is that you can only buy so many "squares" of cropland and then you have all this extra space. Time goes by very quickly, rather than actual time, so that makes the game move fairly fast. I wouldn't call this an exciting game by any means, but if you have patience with games and like them to last a while, then this is a good choice for you. Similarly to FarmVille, you plow your crops, plant your seeds, and harvest. You also treat for pests and can enter crops to win awards. With the different animals, you feed then daily, clean up after them, and reap whatever product they produce (eggs, milk, wool, etc), as well as win awards with them.

This is a great premise for a game since I liked Harvest Moon but poorly executed. The biggest problem with the game is the 7 second load time every time you switch tools or leave your farm or go into a building. The music is annoying but you get a break from it during the 7 second loads which will be many many a game day. It is difficult to want to play for long periods of time because of these load times and after only 2 hours of play of which half had to be load time, I already had all the John Deere equipment. There are tons of trophys you can work for if you can stand the awful music which is the same 3 bars repeated over and over interrupted by the incessant load time. It isn't worth the full price in my opinion so wait for it to go into the cheap pile at the store probably soon or buy it used or play Harvest Moon instead.

We all love this game. It is mostly never ending simulation game but is quite entertaining. My cousins and I love to play it. You start out as a small farmer, if you run your farm well you earn more money and can buy more land, supplies, and animals. Over time you receive awards for your acheivements, you can enter your crops and animals into the county fair, and go into town and buy supplies. This is a really fun, interactive for younger kids but is fun enough for adults to pitch in too.

We bought this game for our 7 year old son. He wanted an Iphone for Christmas so he could play "Farmvile"(which he loves)like his big sister. For our family, an Iphone for our 7 year old just wasn't going to happen, so we hoped this would be a good alternative. He thinks he is a real farmer like his PoPaw:) It is a great game!! My husband and even the "Farmville" big sister like it. It is easy enough for our son to understnad, and fun for them all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This game features the vast diversity of being a full-time farmer, literally. Each game day is used up once the farm you build (or "revive") is growing. There are many diversed parts to this game, which create a whole different selection of options from which the Harvest moon games don't supply.

I bought this game because I'm one of the thousands addicted to the Facebook Farmville. It's discustingly addictive, in fact, I've been trying to buy games that are like it so that I don't always have to be on facebook to play it. I've gone through most of the Harvest Moon games (which are fun, don't get me wrong, but they don't really give you the full aspect of farming) and have been more satisfied with Harvest In the Heartland.

First off, the price was great. 13 bucks for a DS game? That's pretty awesome. The idea of the game was a little iffy with me, since I wasn't sure exactly what approach they were trying to take for this game's theme.

You start off on this small piece of land as a rookie, and there are different levels accessed (as well as special items) as you level up. You raise livestock, and plant plants, clear the land as well as build and tend to new buildings.

Pros: Vast diversity of different activities to do. Every day is different for me in the game.
Graphics are pretty well done, compaired to other Harvest Moon and farming games, these are larger and better to recognize.
Cutomization.
Great options such as having your crops cared for (as far as pestisides go) for the entire season, as well as having your buildings cared for the entire season (packages that you can purchase).

Cons: No social networking. You can't socialize with the people in "town" like you can in other games.
It takes a while to level up, as well as get enough money for any of the extra buildings (which are ridiculously priced)

FUN! John Deere is the best in everything! This is my favorite game that I have. Farming is fun here. I also like how I can choose either a girl farmer or a boy farmer. Terrific game! JOHN DEERE IS THE BEST IN EVERYTHING THEY DO!!!!
