I guess it cleans well enough, but it leaves an obvious waxy feel (as did the conditioner)...I guess that is their approach to curl-taming (think pomades). However, this did not cluster my mostly separated/frizzed out curls at all. My hair has tiny spirals and s-shaped curls (natural state). It grows out feeling moisturized and soft but Very easily dries out with each wash and gets a crunchy feel. Using gels that define but flake and itch after a day causes me to wash almost daily since rinsing usually doesn't feel clean enough to me. I don't usually "co-wash" since that's not washing/cleaning. I wanted this product to be a bandaid until I found a nice non-gel product that would let me shampoo less often. This shampoo, and even the conditioner (except for the deep conditioner), did no more to moisturize my hair than other more affordable brands (Aubrey is great by the way but more $. And Giovanni's Deep Conditioner but Not the leave-in). And as I said, it didn't help to define my curls. Everyone's hair is different to some degree and some people clearly got the results they wanted...but I don't recommend this product. Their deep conditioner was nice but the major detangling effect (!) and moisture (!) nearly disappeared upon the rinse-out. I figured I'd mention that here in case you were considering buying the combo pack.

For comparison, Paul M.'s The Detangler offers more lasting moisture than the F.E. deep conditioner. Oh and if you find scent important, all 3 items had a nice..maybe flowery...scent. But it did not seem to linger after the final rinse.

I was a classic too-manly-for-hair-care male until I recently resolved (out of either vanity or self-respect, or maybe both) to start attending more carefully to my health/appearance/grooming. Hair is, of course, at the front line of that battle, so I interrogated some professional hair people and did some Internet browsing and learned that hair care is only partly a matter of what products you use. Healthy hair is also the result of things like drinking water and eating right and avoiding excessive sun or heat. Hair is, in fact, the most reliable indicator of whether a person is healthy. (See the Wikipedia page on "hair care," for starters.) And I learned that when it comes to hair products, I should look for ones that say "hydrating." (This as opposed to "moisturizing," which merely gives the appearance of hydration.) That's because hydrated hair is pretty much what healthy hair *is.*

I then spent a decent (if not ridiculous) amount of time browsing Amazon's hydrating hair products and reading the reviews, and then I experimented with 5 different, relatively inexpensive products.

The bottom line is that none of the 5 products are magical but I have noticed a mild to moderate improvement in shine, darkness, and thickness. (If you have recommendations for a near-magical product, I'm counting on you to let me know.) Given what I've seen from the different products, I will probably settle into a routine of using a small amount of the Frieda shampoo and conditioner daily, and then using an overnight treatment maybe once a month (but probably not the L'Oreal one).

That doesn't mean I recommend (or don't) any of these products for you.

I have thin, porous, wavy hair. My hair did not like this item at all. It smells strongly of alcohol and felt more drying than smoothing. If anything my hair was more frizzy than before using this. I tried both the Shampoo and conditioner together.

I liked the feel of my hair after using this shampoo. But I used to have hair fall. After switching to another shampoo my hair fall stopped.
not sure if switching the shampoo is the reason..
but other than that I don't have any complaints on this shampoo

I have spent lots of money on products in the past suggested by stylists as I have really thick, dry, wavy hair. John Frieda Frizz-Ease products are cheap and work better than any of the $30 products that I have tried.

This shampoo and conditioner is awesome. I have fine, wavy hair that is really unmanageable in the humid summer months - frizzy, dry, dull, etc. I've tried many different products but have never found something that works for me. After just one day of using this product (and the Straight Fixation cream after shampooing and conditioning) I've noticed a huge improvement. My hair is almost completely frizz-free and looks smooth, shiny and healthy, even in the humidity. I recommend giving this a try if you have shared my frustrations with wild, frizzy hair!

I bought this in addition to some other hair care products so I can't tell if this product in particular makes all the difference, but when I use it I have good hair days. It makes me hair feel smooth and silky.

I really like this conditioner. It isn't carried in stores near me anymore, so I ordered it for nearly the same price on here. I tried the other kind that has the purple cap and it felt like it was watered down. This one is definitely better.
