This is a great book to read after you are familiar with Newman's original writings. I just finished a graduate level course on Newman and this book helped me to better understand Newman's personality and his relationship to those he interacted with. Newman was a very complex person but his single goal was to follow what he believed was a mission from God. His relationship with some of the people he interacted with was strained at times and Dr. Zeno explains both parties motivations. The book is comprehensive and complete. Again, I highly recommend it.
