Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

De Cordova is the executive producer of The Tonight Show , and in this capacity provides an interesting view of how the show is put together each day. His behind-the-scenes view extends to some quick evaluations of regular guests and guest hosts. Not surprisingly, assessments of named individuals tend to be positive. He gives Carson's view of the Joan Rivers' "feud," but readers will learn little about either Johnny Carson or de Cordova himself. Like his discussion of the show, his quick run-through of his Broadway and movie years tends to be a collection of anecdotes. Amusing but hardly substantial.Barbara E. Kemp, Washington State Univ. The worst book I think I've ever read. One of those books from an author that misleads the reader by the title. I wanted to read about Johnny Carson, NOT Fred De Cordova. It might have been more interesting if he would've actually told some cool stories. Save your money. Check out some other book.

A nice well written account of Johnny Carsons story, and his guests etc. However, it was a really old book, and it was hard, to remember even a very few of the incidents. But, for its, age, it was in very readable condition, packaged nicely, arrived, as promised..

Disappointing. Not as "juicy" as I had hoped. It's like getting the story from someone you have just met, not a old-time good friend.
