Lightly burnished Italian calfskin creates a contemporary update to the traditional wingtip.
Throughout time, many things change. A few, however, never do. Work doesn't look like it used to. Suits aren't necessarily the uniform, and Johnston & Murphy knows it. Since 1850, Johnston & Murphy has made shoes that work in the corner office, and play at the corner bar. They realize that men today have to walk the line between modern and classic, cool and comfortable; and believe there is room for uniquely American design, modern form, and hand craftsmanship at any size. Johnston & Murphy has helped professional, affluent men dress to impress for more than 156 years, and are not finished yet. Much has changed since 1850, the names, the styles, the locations. But through it all, one thing has been constant: Johnston & Murphy has remained a pillar of classic workmanship, and a beacon of American style, maintaining a commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and innovation that set the standards for men everywhere.

These shoes are awesome! Super comfortable and they look great with a suit or business casual clothes (work-wear). After work, I throw on a pair of jeans and a blue (or black!) blazer with a t-shirt and I'm all set! The shoes are nice leather so you can wear without socks and they won't rip-up your feet by pinching, etc. These have rubber bottoms - leather bottoms are great, but rubber makes these much more comfortable while walking...
Size-wise, they fit true-to-size. A great pair and I highly recommend!
I find the appearance pleasing as well. The "wings" and toe are slightly darker leather than the top of the shoe, just below the laces. The tip of the toe is burnished, but the leather could easily be darkened with a bit of shoe cream. I find Meltonian "Fashion Brown" to be a good color match. The overall style is very sleek.
I feel a bit nitpicky here, because these shoes are super comfortable, but I don't quite care for how squishy the insole is. Don't get me wrong, for a sit down office job, your feet will be super comfortable. If you're on your feet all day though, I would worry the squishy insole would wear down quickly. This has not been the case with me (I spend my days in a cubicle) but something I thought I'd mention.
As one final nit, the leather on the top of the shoe, just below the laces, feels a bit thinner than the rest of the shoe. Owning a few pairs of Allen Edmonds spoiled me in this arena. The leather is nice and soft, and flexes easily in this area, and the rest of the shoe is a bit tougher, but it is something I noticed. It doesn't bother me that much, but it's worth mentioning.
The bottom line here, is that these are really nice shoes. I got tired of buying $60 Dockers work shoes and having them fall apart and bubbling in the "leather" after a few weeks. That won't happen here, I think these are well worth spending twice as much as crappy Dockers shoes. These are more comfortable and better constructed, plus they look better to boot.
The fit, feel, and look are terrific considering the price. I have my reservations about how they will hold up long term as I'm pretty sure that these soles are glued on instead of stitched. But if I get a few years out of them then I will consider myself fortunate.
I'm also concerned about the leather and how it will crease and appear after multiple wears and shoeshines. I'm pretty hard on shoes with the amount of walking that I do but so far I am not worried. I will update this entry if the product doesn't live up to the four star review.

There's no way these shoes are sized correctly at 12W. Not only are they too narrow, the tips are ridiculously long. These shoes are cockroach killers. Sent them back for a refund.Published 1 month ago by Daniel M. Stadnyckyj
