From the Author

TheFantasy World of Jonguria
Thestory you're about to read takes place in a world called Pelios, which is splitinto two continents - one to the east, Jonguria, and one to the west, Adjuria
Thisworld is very similar to the Orient and Europe in feudal times.  There's a narrow land bridge separating thetwo regions and they rarely have contact anymore.
Thefirst half of the book takes place in Adjuria, the second in Jonguria.
BeforeI wrote the first sentence of what would become this novel I wrote a detailedoutline.
  • Iknew I wanted to write a fantasy trilogy.
  • Iknew that I wanted it to be epic.
  • AndI knew that I was looking at around 120,000 to 150,000 words for eachvolume.

Withthat much material, it's easy to get lost!

Fantasy Maps for Realism
Tomake the fantasy novel seem even more realistic, and the characters as well, itwas necessary to flesh out my fantasy world further.
Toreally get a feel for terrain features I had to make a map.  From that map I was able to write down all thedetails of the parts of my world, that which the protagonists and antagonistsof the fantasy trilogy reside in.
Becauseof that I was able to see what kinds of industries would be in those areas.  Mountainous areas are apt to have mines whileplains would be good for horses.  Whenthat came into focus it was easy to see how different areas made money, whatjobs people had, and thus the general outlook of that area, and its people, upon the world.
Bydoing this I was able to pull up small details in character dialogue that made thesituations more realistic.  And it's thatrealism that you'll find in this fantasy world.
Ihope you enjoy it, and my other fantasy novels.
Thankyou so much for reading!
