Babies will be entertained while developing motor skills. The wall mounted acrylic mirror will excite babies as they learn to pull up and eventually balance on the maple rail.

For anyone who's curious, the mirror is 2 pieces (if installed as in the photo, top and bottom), and the bar and backing plank of wood come pre-assembled. Everything is pretty good quality, and when mounted into studs as it directs, it can support some heavy abuse and weight. It's DEFINITELY not meant for an adult to stand on or hang from - not that I tried...
While my baby girl can already walk, she loves walking/running up to it, catching herself on the bar, and making faces at herself, drumming on the mirror, etc. Once she gets older, i'll probably shift the whole installation up to keep it relevant.
last note - since the mirror is acrylic (and thus somewhat flexible), i just installed it over the outlet receptacle that was on the wall. It does bow out a tiny bit - but it's no issue and isn't horribly obvious. For some reason i preferred that to taking the faceplate off the outlet and having the circuitry exposed behind the mirror... just in case.
