Jorgensen hand screws are now apparently made in China, and the quality has dropped accordingly. They are no longer any better than the shoddy hand screws you can buy at China Freight or R*ckler. The threading on the new ones is not a square thread, the handles are much cheaper now, and the rivets holding the handles on are chincy and break free. Very lame. Congratulations if you receive a genuine made-in-USA version, but don't count on it.

Seem to be the same old wood clamps, but was incredibly disappointed when I saw a "Made in China" sticker on them. The threaded rod is a bright shinny silver now - haven't used them long enough to know if the quality has dropped or not. Minus 2 stars for moving production to China. If you don't care about that, you'll likely be happy with these.

These clamps have been around for ever. Any good woodworking shop has a pile of them. Get them in pairs at a minimum and get a variety of sizes you won't be sorry. They'll last your lifetime and longer.
Oh yeah the other dimension you need to know is the distance from the tip to the middle spindle on this clamp is 5 inches.

Since the dawn of time, man has asked himself the question, "How can I hold this thing to this thing whilst the sticky stuff I applied to these two things to get them to hold together dries?" Until Mr. Phillip Von Jorgensen came along, man would have to hold those two things together by hand until they dried. But Mr. Von Jorgenson didn't have time to be sitting around, holding things, waiting for stuff to dry. No, Mr. Von Jorgenson had a vision. And this is the result of that vision. He saw a problem, and he solved it. I'd like to think that he was eating some soup at the time, and the idea for this clamp hit him. A giant lightbulb appeared over his head. (or perhaps a candle, depending on the era in which Mr. Von Jorgenson lived... I'm not good at history and stuff.) He ran outside to his neighbor, who we will call Augustus, who was sitting on a rock holding two sticky pieces of wood together. He slapped those sticky boards out of his chubby little hands and screamed, "Augustus, I've got it!" Augustus, thinking Phillip had just eaten some berries that went bad, ran inside and grabbed his rifle. However, the rifle didn't work, which was why he was outside trying to glue the stock back together. Did I mention it was the stock that he was gluing? Well it was.

Long story short, this clamp works well. It holds stuff, which is what I want in a clamp. If you want to hold stuff, buy this clamp. Or don't, it's not like I own any shares in the company or anything.

As we all know there is a tool for every job and a clamp for almost every job as well. When working with wood or steel, the ol' Jorgensen is the clamp you go to. I've used these in shops for years and now I've finally bought my first personal one. I can't wait to weather it!

If you weld steel framing for any reason Jorgensen's are some of the best clamps you can have in your personal arsenal. They provide great heat resistance when clamped near weld joints and if clamped far enough away- can be used near torch cuts.

OK clamp, works well. Okay feel to it, finish is so so. Made in China sticker on it made it feel like junk. I purchased this clamping thinking it was made in the US. Has all the Patent Markings on it also has a made in China sticker on it. Turned a $30 clamp into a $10 clamp in my mind. I'm still thinking send it back and get two off of Rockler for the same price. Why pay extra for something with and American name made in China. I read reviews and was little hopeful that it was made in the US, it is not. Your only spending money for a name on this product, not the same clamp I had when I was a kid.

I had a couple of pairs of these from 20 years ago. One of them got dripped on and the steel screws were ruined. This replacement looks just like the older ones. I am very happy to see that these are still being built with the same quality. I believe in the saying that the Quality is remembered long after the Price is forgotten. I think I will go ahead and add to my clamping tools now. Good work Jorgensen!

After decades of woodworking projects, I finally bought these and am very happy with how well the design works. While not fast and require two hands, they hold your work incredibly well.

A nice little trick to quickly open or close in fast amounts before clamping on work, spin the entire clamp holding a handle in each hand as if you're pedaling a bike by hand. That opens or closes quickly depending on direction. Then fine tune once clamping down on work pieces.

Will purchase more in the future as my needs increase.
