With conventional hand reamers the extracted juice needs to be strained before use, to remove any unwanted pips and fruit pulp. The design of the catcher helps eliminate this problem with its soft rubber cup underneath the reaming head, which catches pips and pulp whilst allowing juice to drain through. Comfortable to use than a horizontal hand juicer, it is ideal for all kinds of citrus fruit. Dishwasher safe.

trying to turn the lemon/lime in one hand and need to hold the other hand with the implement very rigid. Little sieve with a reamer works just as well and is a lot cheaper.
The seed catcher works great, just don't move too fast (as I tend to do) as some seeds may slip off the edge when there's a lot of juice waiting to be strained.
I bought this to replace my antique aluminum juicer that sits on top of a cup (which offers resistance while you juice the fruit). This is definitely a change from that, as you hold this reamer in one hand, which then provides the resistance. It's a little awkward to get used compared to what I am used to using. That being said, it does a really good job of juicing. It does allow much more pulp to flow through the holes than I am used to getting, and an occasional pit makes its way through sometimes as well. But if you shake it out in between halves of the lemon or lime, this does a good job of remedying that problem.
On the whole, we are satisfied with this item.
