In The Pallas Quarantine a group of miners on the asteroid Pallas is besieged by a new form of infection. It’s for Hailey, the station’s AI technician, and Kaneko, an A-4 Android medical assistant, to figure out the cause and stop it before it’s too late. As the two deal with the asteroid’s all male miner population freaking out, the love interest between the two continues to bloom.

With the story The A-4 known as Helen, Helen is an elder care-bot used by Mr. and Mrs. Minsu to care for Mr. Minsu’s mother, Chu. But something is wrong with Helen, and she fears the one thing all androids fear- being turned off.

This first volume contains stories that involve my android series known as the A-4s. These A-4 human female looking androids are designed in essence to replace certain aspects women culturally have held, such as child birth and rearing to the caring for elderly relatives.

Why a female android vs. a male? To be honest when the A models were being developed, after the aluminized-chromium A-1 models the manufacturers went with a female design because marketing results showed the female form was more accepting than the male form to the populace at large. The idea of replacing certain cultural roles women have traditionally held was just a marketing aspect as colonization took root during the Second Age of Humanity in the solar system.

The irony is this left a lot more women free to do a lot more on Earth than ever before. And they did.

About the Author

Seth Underwood lives in the Washington, DC metro area. He is a writer of dark speculative Science Fiction, some occasional fun Fiction, and is in the process, preparing the research on the die Gefallenen translations for publication. It is said his writing style is similar to that of Philip K. Dick.

The Stories are intriguing and make you think, the worlds that are created around you are amazing and complex. You finish a story and you want more to read. They are just right size for a quick read. I have often wondered if the world will turn out they way Seth has predicted in his writings. I have really enjoyed his stories.
