About Josette Murray
When Josette’s writing made it into her seventh-grade annual, she thought “Hey, I’d like to do this for a living.” She did, but not the way she imagined. With a liberal artist degree, she predictably spent a few decades as a secretary/administrative assistant, trying to be the square peg in the round hole of other people’s schedules. But one wondrous day, she answered a newspaper ad (remember them?) and found the freelance way of life with a single client, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. FABulous career.
Upon semi-retirement, she began writing fiction and found her voice in her four beloved main characters, and now lives vicariously through their adventures. She also enjoys the opportunity to make a point in every book. You can follow her own adventures at her website https://www.author-josette.com.
Silver Love was her first book in the Silver series. It follows fast friends Dory, Robby, Jill and Charlene as they confront hidden secrets and harness their friendships' power to answer those challenges. Betrayal, addiction and criminal intent are all faced down, with a hefty serving of revenge thrown in for good measure. In the second book, To Be Loved, they confront the evil of human trafficking in their own comfortable neighborhoods, and get to work to make things right yet again.

But along with twenty-first-century attitudes come twenty-first-century problems. Public office candidate and retired judge Charlene is confronted by a wannabe blackmailer, Jill’s passions threaten to swamp her common sense, Dory’s best-selling book could turn out to be a national disaster, and Robby must confront the hard reality of learning that her wife may not be the woman she thought she was. Steadfast in their faith in themselves and each other, and bolstered by the rich history of their friendship, the four women struggle with twists and turns as they try to navigate a landscape generated by the actions of others as well as their own choices, proving that experience does not always pave a smooth road.
In a world where everything increasingly seems relative, these women remind us that some things don’t change—like the bedrock of relationships. Silver Love is all about love; love among friends, love between lovers, and the unexpected role of love with acquaintances who may not always be what they seem. If you can keep up, join the ride and follow these ageless heroines as they pursue their adventures in the modern world.
When a calm evening walk leads Dory to suspect bad news is happening right next door in her placid neighborhood, and when a waif comes under Jill’s wing, routine life takes a vacation. And when a corpse points toward a suspect who’s far from virginal in character, and seems to link to the waif and the bad news, well! All bets are off. The women rally to defeat evil and correct injustice, helped with a generous serving of karma from a very unexpected source.
Along the way, they work with and for the police, sometimes in―ah, unorthodox―ways. But what are a few more gray hairs to law enforcement when the cause of justice is advanced? They encounter smugglers in the devil’s oldest crime, street-smart kids wiser than their years, maids in distress, and unlikely allies in Skid Row. But the persistent four also marshal the vengeance of the angels, through their own interference―ah, intercession―and that of their beloved friends. Along the way, the power of love in its many forms to overcome evil becomes apparent.
Enjoy the ride with your favorite four as they set the world right yet again!
