Josh's Frogs Fruit Fly Medias are the best producing Fruit Fly Medias on the market, and we have been constantly perfecting them since 2004. We approach Fruit Fly culturing from a scientific standpoint, and produce over 1200 32 oz Fruit Fly cultures a week. Last year, we produced over 24 TONS of fruit fly media!
Both of our media formulas are specifically designed with each Fruit Fly in mind. There is a substantial size difference between melanogaster and hydei Fruit Flies; because of this, their dietary needs are different. We will always recommend to use the proper media when culturing fruit flies yourself. When culturing with the wrong media, it is more important than ever to closely monitor the temperature and humidity of the cultures.
