As with all of Mr. Black's books, there is such deft humor, the reader will experience laugh out loud moments, spontaneous bursts of sheer joy and chuckles. No more so than in this particular volume when a death that impacts virtually all the family occurs. Yes, it's a somber and tear filled experience, but also lends us one of the funniest, most exuberant occasions of joyful, gleeful bittersweet poignancy I've ever read. A life is celebrated, with Josiah adroitly seeing what's needed most and providing it, as we've come to expect.
Two new and intriguing characters are introduced, Anita and Simon and their story is quite an emotional one. No spoilers, but I'm looking forward to the next two volumes to see how their story unfolds. Simon is an interesting addition to the series and gives Josiah a peer to interact with. As always, the sex and submission, the BDSM is sizzling hot. The prose is a marvel that pulls the reader in, makes you a part of the story. His eloquence in narrative dialogue is superlative.
All in all, such a satisfying third volume in a wonderful series that is indeed, a magnum opus. One which I doubt will be the last from this talented author.
Well we’re half through this series now and if you haven’t started Josiah yet then what are you waiting for!!
With every book Lucas X Black writes in this series he just takes it to another level, and he pushes your limits that little bit more. Yet again I couldn’t put this down, something just draws me to his writing. I’ve been in a huge book funk, so starting any book was always going to be a challenge but I’m so glad I read this.
In this book we see Josiah taking on Anita and Simon. Simon is a dom but Anita needs training so Josiah and his slaves see to it that it happens, there’s a lot of ups and downs in this one though, it’s a bit of a rollercoaster ride. So strap in and enjoy the ride!
These books are definitely worth a read and I can’t wait for book 4 to see how he deals with the next series of events. By the way I love Josiah, but I love Darla and Becky they are definitely my girl crushes ;)
Check this one out before book 4 comes out this month!
5 HUGE dominant stars!!
Mr. Black has continued their journey into becoming a solid strong family. They must learn as a family to deal with some of the obstacles that life throw at them, when they visit someone from Leigh's past.
This is a series that you definitely want to read. Josiah may master his slaves with a strong hand, but he shows a loving side to each of them. Get the series and see for yourself how the love develops among them all. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
