About the Author

Dr. Udo Ulfkotte is a respected journalist and a former editor for the German main daily newspaper, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Dr. Ulfkotte received his doctorate at the University of Freiburg in 2003 in foreign policy. Dr. Ulfkotte is a Fellow of the Marshall Memorial Fund. He was a member of the Policy Planning Staff of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, a Speaker of Bundeskademie for Security Policy, a guest-speaker at the Journalists Academy of Friedrich Ebert Foundation, and taught by 1999-2007 in the Department of Business Administration "security management" at the University of Lüneburg. Since 2008 Dr. Ulfkotte teaches competitive intelligence, defense of economic espionage, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Business Ethics at Californian University . Dr. Ulfkotte has written numerous books on security issues, most recently Jihad in Europe, before The war in the Dark - The True Power of the Secret Services, Boundless Criminal, Market of Thieves and Prophet of Terror (with Peter Scholl-Latour). This great and important work is being censored, but not by Amazon!!

I have read the German version of this landmark study of direct CIA influence over journalists throughout Europe, and, a fortitori, here in North America. It is a very telling, and very well-written expose of just how far the completely out-of-control CIA haslong since gone in bribing German and other journalist to put their names on CIA ghost-written articles in the most established and [strangely still] respected newpapers and magazines in Germany, especially the prestigious, Die Frankfurter Allgemine Zeitung. Many commentators here on Amazon seem to believe that the English version of this work is being censored by Amazon. That is almost certainly not the case, since the entire first run of the English edition of the book has been suppressed for two years now, and hence the work cannot be found, even at the ridiculous $900 price on any other bookseller website, or price comparison website. Thus the explanation for the works suppression is far more sinister, namely, it must be being kept out of distribution by intense pressure from the CIA , perhaps in collusion with MI6 in Britain, itself! That this is almost certainly the case is revealed by the fact that the intended publisher of the work, is known for publishing works that the powerful do not wish to see made public, i.e. that they act like actual journalists rather than mere PR people as George Orwell once made that distinction!! So the intimidation or monetary inducement upon them from the CIA can only be assumed to be very significant indeed. It's just one more case study, if such were still needed, that the much vaunted "free press" in the UK and US, and Germany too of course, is in fact anything BUT free!! The only thing that might finally knock the still frozen work free for public sales is massive counter pressure from both readers and responsible journalists and a complete expose of the current suppression of the book. But don't expect such a thing any time soon, since the MSM is too sychophantic, not to mention oblivious to their OWN best interests, even just to defend and call for the release of Julian Assange , whom the CIA spooks who run this sorry land are seeking to try in secret in the despicable FISA courts, imprison forever, and probably torture as well, all for doing no more than journalist are supposed to do, -- and that the NYT, The Guardian, the WaP and many other news outlets did with the very same Wikipeaks obtained materials!, -- namely publish whistle-blower released documents establishing massive criminality on the part of their governments!! But, as I have said, it is almost certainly NOT Amazon that is censoring the story! In fact, that they even have a listing up for the book and one advertised for sale at an astronomical price might well be a kind of small protest against the censorship on their part. No one else, at any rate, even lists the work as existing in an English translation at all!!

No, I haven't read the book, because it is priced completely out of my reach. I am giving it five stars anyway because of what I've read *about* it, as I've followed its author's saga -- the blackout by German media of the original German edition Gekaufte Journalisten (Bought Journalists) for a couple of years now, raids by German police on the author's house, his noting how he feared for his life, and his finally being found dead on January 13 of this year "from a heart attack" (he was only 56, and because it is possible to kill someone in ways that look like a heart attack, some people believe he was murdered).

The fate of a whistleblower against one of the world's most powerful organizations in a controlled society being passed off as a democracy?

Two things are abundantly clear: (1) The English translation of this book has been "privished." There are a couple of good recent discussions of what it means to "privish" a book, but Amazon will not allow me to link to them. So let's just say: the purpose of "privishing" is make a book with an unwanted message disappear without a trace by limiting information about it, destroying its marketability by printing too few copies, and refusing reprint rights, so that the copies available are too expensive for readers of ordinary means (which is nearly all of us). (2) Anyone who claims there are no conspiracies, that there are no behind-the-scenes efforts by powerful people to suppress information that would expose their efforts at global domination, is full of crap.

Have read this book in German but as far as I know it is no longer available in bookshops in Germany either. The author who was a deputy editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeine and worked there for 17 years turns whistleblower and spills the beans on the corruption of German media by US lobby agencies which have CIA backing. The news is always given a pro American slant and journalists can look forward to rewards for their efforts. Should they not collude then their career is over. Corrupted German journalists are named and shamed. The EU is also revealed to be equally corrupt . German journalists assigned to EU reporting have to sign a document stating that they will never write anything negative about the EU. The level of manipulation by the EU is also frightening. The author himself was part of the set up and even received a prestigious reward for his pro America efforts but eventually became disgusted by the system and his collusion in it. I pre ordered the book last year in English on Amazon as my son wanted to read it but I kept receiving emails from Amazon changing publication dates and eventually they informed me that they were unable to access the book. There is no doubt that the book is dynamite and has been suppressed because of this.
