About the Author
Ed Blonski is an associate pastor at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hawthorn Woods, Il and is the founder of True Men Ministries. An ordained in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, he has served as a parish pastor in rural Michigan small-town Wisconsin, and a suburban-Los Angeles church. Along the way, his wife and he have been raising three young boys, two Labrador retrievers and a beagle. In 2004 Ed was given two books by a friend, Patrick Morley’s “Man in the Mirror” and John Eldredge’s “Wild at Heart.” This ignited in him a passion to reach out to other men and their families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After sitting down with two friends and sharing this new-found passion, they formed True Men Ministries, which helps guys become the men God intends for them to be through Bible Studies and special outdoor events. TMM also helps wives and families work with husbands, fathers and sons in this vital endeavor. Based on 1 Samuel 9:6, “Behold, there is a man of God in this city, and he is a man who is held in honor; all that he says comes true. So now let us go there. Perhaps he can tell us the way we should go,” True Men Ministries uses many different tools to help men become “men of God” who can tell others the way they should go. Ed preaches nearly every other weekend at his church and leads several Bible studies each week. In addition to this, he also has a passion for his wife and three sons, spending time with them reading, playing baseball, swimming, hiking, and worshiping God. In years past he has led wilderness camping events in the panhandle of Idaho along the banks of the north fork of the Couer de’Alene river, and rock climbing “advances” in Joshua Tree National Park and Malibu Creek State Park, teaming up with Craig DeMartino. Ed speaks on a wide-variety of topics including how to begin a men’s ministry in your church, looking at different approaches to a men’s “Bible Study,” raising sons and daughters as a father after God’s own heart, and the importance of sexual purity for the man of God. Ed also likes to listen to great music from jazz to classical. He has been involved in radio for nearly 30 years, producing and hosting local radio shows in St. Louis, Missouri, as well as internet shows featuring Christian contemporary music and classical music. He now hosts “The True Man Podcast” which can be heard on Stitcher, iTunes, and at trumen.podbean.com To find out more about True Men Ministries go to www.truemen.org.
