(Quote)"But when two hearts combine, and they travel that road together, it leads to something even greater. It leads to home. To a love so great it makes your heart burst."

First of all, this is hard to write without spoilers but I am going to try my best to keep it vague. I had kind of mixed feelings about this book...well, at least I had a hard time in the beginning because things happened very quickly and there was so much angst...just so much. There were so many missed chances and opportunities, miscommunication, secrets, lies, and missteps. The characters frustrated me with some of their decisions. There were toxic people that grated on me, and every time they did something else it made me so angry I wanted to throw my Kindle. Rachel and I were actually messaging during the first chunk of the book commiserating over all the things that were surprising us or just driving us crazy. It was a total rollercoaster of drama for at least the first third of the book. And I know some people thrive on this, but sometimes I just do not deal with constant angst.

But then it started to level off and I got to see another side of the characters as they started to figure things out. And from that point on I really began to like the book and the characters really grew on me. Once they started to get it together and were on the same page, it became easier to identify with them and become invested in their outcome. Not only the main characters Maddie and Cale, but also their very best friends, Monica and Jack .

Cale and Maddie started out so intense and it left a mark on them that neither of them could replace. For years, in the background they kept looking for each other, but never connected and could never find anyone else comparable.

Cale and Maddie met years earlier with the intention of a one night stand. They didn't expect the connection they had. Their lives circled around each other, never finding each other again until life had put someone in their paths that would forever change the course of their lives.

Jealousy and obsession make people do stupid things. Zoey was suppose to be Maddie's friend, but when given the opportunity to take something Maddie had wanted for years, Zoey did. She only wanted to hurt Maddie.

This story is about lost love. A connection so strong that nothing can compare; however, sometimes life throws us detours from the path we know we're supposed to take. Came and Maddie travel different roads for a while, they try to deny their connection, they try to make the best of what life puts in front of them, but at some point when do you stop denying what is right in front of you? When do you take a chance on a lost love being where you're supposed to be?

I enjoyed this book. True Kelly Elliott style. Men who aren't afraid to show their emotions, women who get to see the soft side of their men, sex, language, and of course the occasional mishap are all in this book.

Kelly Elliott has recently become one of my favorite authors.

I have read just about all her books in about a mths time span. Trust me, you will want to read them!
This book here, A Journey Home, is my favorite. I LOVED The Wanted series and the continuous of their kids stories but this book here. I could not put it down, it was different from her other books. Which I loved. There's nothing wrong with that. I love Kelly's writing, her humor, the characters she comes with. But this book was soo different, it had suspense, drama, love, tears, laughter!
Loved all characters but 1 of course lol
It's a GREAT read.

I loved this book. But I hated her. When she was gone I was happy. All of Kelly's books get better and better each time I read them. This book will knock you for a loop. The sadness will fill you with more pain then you will ever experience . This book had me on my toes one twist then another Kelly you rock.

Let me start by saying that I have always loved Kelly’s books and I did like this one it’s just this one was a little much for me. Maddison and Cale meet after one night at a party and then Maddison got scared and ran from Cale for 2 years. One thing I loved is how it was told from both characters points of view and also how the secondary characters played a huge part. My main problem of this book was Zoey! I just hated how much Zoey but Cale and Maddie through. There were times I was screaming at my kindle because I wanted to punch Zoey in the face. It takes a while but finally the book starts going in the right direction. There were still things these two had to overcome but overall it was a pretty good book.

I am Never disappointed when I read a book by Kelly Elliottt. Cale and Maddie met at a party near the beach, and sparks flew. Their one night together is burned in their memories. Years later they both never forgot and always hope they would find each other, but when they do meet again 1 thing stands in there way, Maddie's so call friend Zoey. Can two people who were meant to be together from the first time they met find their way around all the problems standing between them. The struggles, the love, the pain, the heartbreak, can their love bring them together and get their HEA. I would give this book 10 stars but it doesn't go that high,. I recommend this book to everyone. A story well written.
