An overall useless book. There aren't real examples. The graduate students in the class seemed to know what was going on, but none of the undergraduates did. I think SYS520 or SYS510 might cover some sort of mathematical background for the course. I would not recommend the book or the author as a professor.

Prof taught right out of this book (He was also the author) and its written is such a way where its pretty easy to follow even without class notes.
