This book is such a story of pain. parenthood and then, faith. It is written so beautifully by a Mom's heart and a Dad's quiet love. It is an awesome presentation of a horribly difficult journey done with passionate love. This is a book that I can recommend wholeheartedly.

To watch a tragedy turn into a remarkable impact on the Gilbert, Dallas, and Texas A&M family (and for any reader of this incredible book) makes you appreciate His plan even more. This book will change your perspective on life and encourage you to live courageously with that dash mark between your birth and death date on your tombstone.

This is a well written amazing account of the journey the Gilbert family took as they dealt with the assault of cancer on their family. It would be a treasure for anyone going through a family crisis or loss of a loved one. This very honest, compelling story offers compassion, strength and hope.

A deeply personal and emotional account of the most difficult time a parent can imagine. Laura does a beautiful job of sharing God's grace and care during the loss of her son.

Laura's book is a well-written and moving story of the heart-break of losing a child to cancer, and the power of faith to lift the soul to overcome grief.
