In the Grand Hall of Justice a chilling ultimatum is issued to the Judges: remove yourselves from power or face the consequences. Somewhere in Mega-City One the terrorist organisation Total War have planted two hundred thermonuclear devices and as long as the Judges stay in charge they will detonate them one by one. Total War is an explosive epic from Judge Dredd co-creator John Wagner (A History of Violence) with art from Colin MacNeil (Devlin Waugh), Henry Flint (Judge Dredd Vs Aliens) and Jason Brashill (Shaun of the Dead).

Top review from the United States

John Wagner is a treasure. The primary scribe behind Judge Dredd for almost 50 years he manages to take an over-the-top parody world and produce genuinely touching stories.

In "Total War" a radical pro-democracy group (part of Wagner's genius is the ability to make the pro-democracy faction the bad guys) conducts a bombing campaign against the judges. The first story is a Greek tragedy about a woman who falls for the wrong guy and a terrorist who decides, too late, to get out. The last story is almost a horror story about an amnesia victim who sees flashes of the future. In the middle we have an epic story where Total War plants nuclear bombs across Mega City One and threatens to detonate them unless the judges leave. And, slight spoilers, the Judges do not catch them in time. It has future detective work, action, drama and terror. It feels very much like Judge Dredd's post-September 11 story but still works as its own thing.

I really admire what Wagner and other writers have done with Dredd and this is another fine addition to the pantheon.

Not one of the best Judge Dredd epics. But Total War was a good read are the art work was great. I would have to say that is the one thing that is very good about this book.
