About Judith Lucci
Judith Lucci is a Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Amazon Best Selling author who loves to kill people - which is totally opposite what she's spent her life doing. "I love to think of heinous ways to dispose of people - sometimes a lot of people- but it must be creative. I don't use guns very often but rather rely on my medical background and research to figure out the best way to get the job done. Bullets are just too easy. I'm sure a psychiatrist would have a ball trying to figure out why someone who spent her life caring for people and saving lives, now spends hours each day in the creative pursuit of murder."
Dr. Lucci is a Gold Medal Winner for Best Sleuth 2017 for The Case of Dr. Dude, the first book in the Michaela McPherson Series and another Gold Medal for Best Political Thriller in 2017 for Viral Intent, the third book in the Alexandra Destephano medical thriller series. Michael St. John never lost a criminal case. He wasn’t a nice guy. He cheated his clients, destroyed criminal evidence, paid off judges, and ran around on his wife. He was an albatross around the neck of the Richmond Police Department.

A thoroughly engaging story populated by exceptional characters

“The Case of the Very Dead Lawyer”, the fourth crime thriller in author Judith Lucci’s Michaela McPherson Mysteries, brings back ex-Richmond cop Mic, her faithful retired police dog, Angel, and the amazing Countess Dottie, her investigative partner, in a taut, fast-paced and scary novel that will keep readers up late as it races towards its climax. An old and very deadly enemy resurfaces as Dottie and Mic are hired to investigate the death of the book’s title by one of Dottie’s friends. Matters soon become extremely complicated as their investigation progresses and a much bigger picture emerges.
Once again, author Lucci treats readers to a thoroughly engaging story populated by exceptional characters, now so familiar to her fans, from previous books in the series, that they feel like family. If anything, Countess Dottie seems even more irascible in this outing that in the previous books, but her scenes are always entertaining and bring a smile of enjoyment to this reader’s lips, a nice contrast with the villain’s own mortiferous manoeuvers.
A great read, recommended for all lovers of crime fiction.
A fancy ladies luncheon at a posh Richmond restaurant goes south when one of the ladies collapses on the table. Can Mic and K9 Angel solve the case?

As other restaurant patrons in Richmond meet similar fates, Michaela, K9 Angel and Dottie join forces with the Richmond Police and the FBI to track down the pair of heinous murderers. But to catch the killers, they must put their own lives and the lives of others in in serious jeopardy.
Will Michaela, Countess Dottie and K9 Angel make it out alive?

Sincerely I hope that I am like Countess Dorothy when I reach my early 80's. Love her spunk. And, I would be remiss if I did not mention that lovely canine, Angel. Five woofs for her, too.
Michaela McPherson, was once a Richmond, Virginia, homicide detective. This is one of those professions that never leaves your blood. Once a detective, always a detective.
Thought this was a fast-paced novel with intriguing character development. And, there was an array of delightful characters to keep the reader's interest.
Could this streak of murders be domestic terrorism or is it something else?
Most highly recommended.

“A cold shadow falls over my face. I open my eyes to see a vulture circling above me. Using my hand, I shade my eyes and see that another has joined it; both gliding on the warm air current as though conserving their strength for the kill that lies ahead… I believe that I am that kill…”
Dr. Sonia Amon, battlefield surgeon, retired Army Major, and CIA operative is on leave from Walter Reed Army hospital. Hatred, fear, death, and disaster await Sonia in Syria. The country is a dangerous place even though Sonia speaks the language, knows the culture, and recognizes some of her enemies. She feels the eyes and ears of others on her back. She senses their presence. Her enemies watch her day and night.
