About Judy A. Knox
Judy Knox is a retired high school teacher who now teaches Christians how to enjoy a more vibrant walk with God by discovering His goodness in everyday life. Her books, devotionals, and blog posts encourage and inspire readers to find positive aspects to even those negative situations we all encounter from time to time. She always enjoyed writing, but began pursuing it seriously after her husband passed away in 2012.
Originally from the Midwest, Judy began escaping to Arizona for three winters before settling in as a year-round resident in 2017. Her son and daughter (both married) and six grandchildren still live in the Chicago area. She hopes that eventually they will relocate in a more southwesterly direction.
Although she would like more time with her family, she delights in the warm Arizona weather and her life in an active senior community. Social, educational, recreational, and musical opportunities about there, and she participates in a little of everything. As leader of their Joy of Writing Group, she spearheaded the group-written cozy mystery novella, The Deadly Water Hazard, published on Amazon under the pen name Paige Terner.
In addition to writing, she learned to play the cello at age 72 and performs occasionally with some smaller groups. A 2021 graduate of Charis Bible College, Phoenix, AZ, with an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies and a ministerial certificate, she teaches Bible study groups in her home, Future projects include a second devotional book similar to Dewdrops of Grace, many blog posts, and several new books that are in various stages of progress.

Blog postI love God’s intricate timing. Sometimes I end up late somewhere when I thought I’d left home in plenty of time, or I make an accidental wrong turn. Then later I learn my “mistake” kept me from a dangerous situation. In Psalm 37:23 we are told, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.” When we commit our day to God, He’ll see that we’re always in the right place at the right time.

Blog postI want to be fat! You’re probably surprised to hear me say this if you know me at all. In my adult years I’ve probably been on one diet or another more of the time than not, and am still seeking the right balance in my life regarding food and exercise. I do not enjoy being overweight.
However, in my spiritual life I want to be F-A-T: Faithful, Available, and Teachable. This acronym has apparently been in use for a long time, but I never heard it till a friend shared it with me recentl4 years ago Read more -
Blog postA little fish came to the wise old big fish with a question that was troubling him. ”Okay,” he said, ”I understand sand. I can see it below me. I know about rocks, and how to hide among them. And I know what plants are. But where’s this ocean everybody’s always talking about?”
Because the fish was in the ocean, and a part of it, he had no awareness of the water in and around him. I remember being surprised at the stillness around me the first time I went up in a hot air balloon. There5 years ago Read more -
Blog postI turned onto Highway 24, coming from Charis Bible College in Woodland Park, CO and heading west toward Dawn of Hope Ranch where I was staying. After four days of conferences, the route was familiar. As I left the evening session the moon shed little light on the road. I considered turning on the brights, but there was too much oncoming traffic.
The speed limit sign said 60, so I set the cruise control at 58 and was rolling along. I was challenged by the message at the conference and5 years ago Read more -
Blog postI really enjoy Tish’s blog posts. I featured one of them a few weeks ago, “Ride-along Chaplain.” In addition to being an author, Tish is a life coach and a hospital chaplain. I found this post very timely and thought-provoking as we approach the Fourth of July. Wishing you a happy and safe holiday.

Blog postLetitia Suk is a friend from forty years ago with whom I lost contact until we recently discovered each other at a Christian writers’ conference. I heard her name when they introduced her as the conference chaplain, but silly me, I didn’t put it together that Letitia was actually Tish. I remember wondering if she was related to the Tish Suk I had once known. Eventually we became Facebook friends and I saw a picture of her with her husband, Tom. The lightbulb finally went on. Blog postThe Bible contains many stories about the mothers of important characters. One of my favorites is Hannah. Her story sets an example of faith for us all – men and women alike. In Hannah, we see a great illustration of what it means to “walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
The story is in 1 Samuel Chapter 1. For many years, Hannah desired to have a child, but she was barren. Her husband’s other wife had many children. Every year when they would visit the temple, the other w5 years ago Read more -
Blog postWhen my son Doug turned nine years old, we had a birthday party. He is now an adult and father of three teenagers, and I haven’t thought about that party for years. But recently I found myself thinking about it as though it happened only a few days ago. I remembered all the preparations that went into that party: the cake I baked– a chocolate-frosted racetrack, complete with little cars; special paper plates and napkins; a dining room decorated with balloons and crêpe paper s5 years ago Read more

Blog postToday is the Spring Equinox, the First Day of Spring! The sun and the earth are in their places. Hopefully the weather will get the message soon! It’s at this time of year that the sun is directly in front of you if you’re heading west near the time of sunset, or east at sunrise, making driving a bit of a challenge. This happens because wherever you are on the planet, the sun is rising due east and setting due west.

Blog postLately I’ve been thinking a lot about memorial stones. In the Old Testament, we read about memorial stones people set up to commemorate a special event or encounter with God. The morning after Jacob wrestled with God, he set up a stone (Genesis 28:18-22) as a reminder of his experience at that place. After Joshua led the children of Israel across the Jordan River, God told them to take twelve stones from the middle of the riverbed to the new land where they were going. Her two married children and six grandchildren live in the Chicago area. Judy is also the author of Dewdrops of Grace, a collection of devotionals. With plenty of resident suspects, all with motives resulting from conflicts with the victim, the path to solving this mystery is full of twists and turns. And everyone has something to hide.
What do an angry grandma, a tormented golf partner, a chef with a past, and a secretive waitress have in common? And what about the browbeaten spouse?
Will the snoopy spinster’s sleuthing skills help or hinder the investigation as detective Peterson uncovers the clues? Will this once tranquil community play through this handicap and get out of the rough?
This fun mystery adventure was incubated by a small writing group in an active retirement community very similar to Cactus of the Valley. Characters in the story were developed by different writers, then hatched into what became The Deadly Water Hazard.
What do butterflies, computers, and traffic delays have in common with stories about sheep and shepherds, pearls and pigs, or seeds and sowers? All of these contain messages about God that can help us get more out of our relationship with Him if we view them with the right perspective.
This collection of forty inspirational devotionals relates everyday objects and events to biblical truth. Each devotional begins with a complete passage of Scripture for the reader who doesn’t happen to have a Bible handy while reading. Full of aha! moments, Dewdrops of Grace shares serious truths in a lighthearted way that will encourage you and brighten your day.
Whether you read one a day, or devour the whole book in an afternoon, you'll come away refreshed with a new awareness of how God is at work in your life. Appropriate for men or women, individuals or groups, these messages are thought provoking but not preachy, offering all believers a spiritual shot in the arm.
