These are all great albums, bouncing back and forth from pop to country, with many of the tracks blurring the edges of those styles. A few folk and rock songs are thrown in as well, but the country-pop material is the focus of all three albums (though "Dirty looks" does take the music closer to pure pop). Also worth mentioning is, all seven of Juice Newton's Top 40 Billboard pop hits (as well as a few minor country and pop hits) are contained on these three albums, so the set offers a nice sprinkling of Juice Newton's two dozen hit songs.
Fans of the #1 hit "The Sweetest Thing (I've Ever Known)" will be happy to know the version included here is the super-rare 1981 country version, which was released only on very early pressings of the "Juice" album before being replaced with the slicker pop version that was the radio hit. Prior to this collection, this lovely version of the song (which features a slightly different vocal and country-style backing music) was available on CD only on an import called "Country Classics," which wasn't re-mastered, so this refreshed version is an extra-special treat.Read more ›
still gives me "goose bumps' every time I hear this song. I have one of her Capitol Records greatest hits collection. I
have to admit that I like and enjoy every single song included. No need to skip tracks at all.
This 3 albums in 2 CD's collection is simply spectacular. In my opinion Juice Newton has a gifted voice. I believe
she can sing everything and anything and sing it well.
Now I have three more reasons to enjoy Juice Newton's voice over and over. Music addicts like myself need more of this compilations available.
